Sadistic_Life
Okay, so I don't know why I am all of a sudden so concerned with weight; before I left school I was solely concerned with my mind rather than my body. However, here recently I have been noticing weight, not just concerning myself, but other's weight as well. Like today, I was at the store, and I kept looking at all of these (what I use to consider) under-weight girls with a waist the size of my leg, and all I could think was, "God, I wish I could be that thin." Then I would look at the slightly over-weight crowd and think, "What if I end up being that heavy?" Here I am 5'8" and 155 lbs (most of the extra weight in my ass), perfectly "healthy" weight for my height and age, but really unhappy about it. I don't know why. I use to not be so superficial, but weight is a big concern for me now. Well, another reason I might be so concerned, is the fact that I am on the prowl for a boyfriend (I have never really dated; again, my sole concern has always been my education). I understand that what one finds attractive is subjective/relative, but do most people find the curvy Scarlett Johanson/Beyonce/JLO body-type to be more attractive than those that are stick-thin? I use to think that curvier bodies were very attractive, but it seems to me that most guys find really thin girls more attractive than us curvacious girls. Am I wrong? Pink Amulet
IME- The most attractive body to a man is the one you love. Self-love is the hottest thing... Those stars you have mentioned work hard to keep in shape (which I personally believe is important for your inner health), but the most important thing is they ooze self confidence. So it doesn't really matter what body shape they have.
jerbear
I do not like stick thin or 800 lb gorrillas either. It is the overall package and yes, she has to catch my eye then her education helps her hold them on her. Again it is the overall package on how well everything is put together. For some the extra weight in the butt is just extra cushion when push'in. Some men are into butts and wanna "see more butts!"

Pink Amulet
I just hope men are not going to contradict what I said in my post
johan
I just hope men are not going to contradict what I said in my post  Oh no! Body shape doesn't matter! I'm all for a great personality and attitude. I hardly notice the body at all. How was that?
Pink Amulet
That isn't what I mean. Think about it. A girl could have a sensational body, but if she hates herself, cuts her wrists, and throws up after every meal... how hot is she now?
jerbear
Great, I have to now check her wrists, arms, and other places? It really depends, if I just met her, she'll be hot alright, more like hot potato. If after dating or even friends for awhile, when I find out, I would work with her to build more self esteem. If I'm her lover then heck yeah, help her be who she wants to be. If I'm her friend, help her but not to the same degree as a lover. Not to be arrogant, as lovers, she and I are sharing the same bed and life; she and I are in it together. That isn't what I mean. Think about it. A girl could have a sensational body, but is she hates herself, cuts her wrists, and throws up after every meal... how hot is she now?
Curmudgeon
I think it's very individual. For me, when I put my arms around a woman I want to be holding a WOMAN, not a popsicle stick. Curves are my preference.
Bogun
IME- The most attractive body to a man is the one you love. Self-love is the hottest thing... I'd have to disagree pink. If you mean self confidence, then yes I agree but if you are talking about a girl that is in love with her body then no f***ing way. I understand that what one finds attractive is subjective/relative, but do most people find the curvy Scarlett Johanson/Beyonce/JLO body-type to be more attractive than those that are stick-thin? Curvy = hot. stick thin = looks good as an accessory in the street, but thats it.
Curmudgeon
What I think you're talking about is a woman who is comfortable being who and what she is, carries herself well, looks you in the eye and isn't afraid to be herself around you. If that's it, you have it right where this man is concerned.

If you mean self confidence, then yes I agree but if you are talking about a girl that is in love with her body then no f***ing way. I went in to more detail in my thread "self-love". This is a common misconception. You can love your body without being infatuated with your physical self (aka Narcissus!). I love my body, I like to show it off, and I like to keep it in great shape, but that doesn't mean that I look at myself in ever shop window reflection as I walk past
