Sick Building.. I need out..

I have discovered my issue with watery eyes this year..

I've been working in this building for almost 3 years. This is the first year in which my eyes have wrecked havoc on me watering constantly while at work.

Yes, I do have allergies. They are worse this year then any other year I can remember due to a significant amout of pollen and mold in the air.

I seen a doctor and he gave me a perscription for allergy eye drops. I have been using them and they give me some relief although not complete relief.

I also continue to take Claritin every day as he recommended also.

You would think my symptoms would ease up but NO they havent.

I have spent so much money on different kinds of eye liner, mascara and also started wearing it on the outside of my eye lashs instead of the inside lid ledges of my eyes and that didn't seem to help much...

I am beginning to think my biggest culprit is the fact that I practically SIT ON TOP of a litttle ceramic heater at work all day. It has a filter on the back which I clean regularly but I'm wondering if the heat is drying out my eyes and that is whats making them water??

Sometimes when I blink my eyes will gush with a flood of tears. I have to grab for a kleenex to wipe the river that flows down my cheeks.

Its been over 90 degrees F. around here lately and this office is so cold my hands turn blue. I have to have heat on me all day. I hate this office.

The AC units have clogged up with pollen two times so far and it makes me happy when it does it because it freezes up the AC system and doesn't work. Therefore I can work in more comfortable temps. and not sit atop this heater.

The tentants who operate the AC in my area won't turn the cool air down at a more comfortable temp for me because they are upstairs and heat rises. They have huge windows facing West and it gets really warm up there even with the AC on. While I sit down stairs freezing my damn butt off --getting sick, shivering most of the day, my toes are numb, my fingers are blue, I get to try heat up the little space under my desk with this little heater and it doesn't keep a consistant array of warmth around me. I constantly get this draft which is uncomfortable and the heat rises over my keyboard tray and irratates my eyes...

Gosh I hate this job.. I dress likes its winter outside and then when I do go outside at lunch time to get AWAY from this office. I am over taken by heat.. I'm not happy. This building is not built like it should be.. This lobby is cold all the time.. Winter and summer. It's exhausting me trying to find a way to feel comfortable in this work enviroment..

My toes need warming.

I need a hanky to wipe the tears from my eyes.

Damn Pada, you need a new job!! Or at least another office on a different floor where it is warmer!!

Yes, heat dries my eyes out too and irritates them to no end. I have bad eye allergies. In the summer there isn't a day that goes by that I don't itch them and have them swell up and hurt. So I know exactly what you are going through.

I'd also lay off the mascera altogether. I only wear it occasionally when we are going somewhere nice, because it will irritate my eyes something awful!! If the mascera is over 6 months old, it can harbor bacteria. I saw a Tyra Banks show once that had someone showing how your makeup has a shelf life that isn't that long, and she actually put a microscope on some chic's makeup and things were crawling and wiggling around that I do not want to imagine in my eyes or on my face!! It have even harbor E coli!! I threw my mascera away immidiately and bought a new one, and still hurts my eyes!! So I just don't use it much anymore. It isn't worth the problems it causes.

My eyes water alot and people think I'm crying! :lmao: I hate it!! I feel ya girl!!

I buy new mascara every 3 weeks or so. I know about the bacteria that builds up in it. I also know that certain kinds are really bad for your eyes due to the ingredients.

I switched to Allmay. It works better then my previous kind but still find some difficulties using it.

I won't go without makeup unless Its life or death..

I have no eye lashes. They are blonde and clear.. My german genes has blessed me with little deep set beady eyes that look sunk into my head. Yuck Yuck Yuck.. I need emphasis or I look washed out and sickly.

I work in a public place so its not like I'm sitting in a cublicable where I can hide. I am the first person everyone sees when they walk in the door.

I'm possitive its the heater that is irratating my allergies more and that is why it is so bad.

Not to mention that a fan will suck in pollen, dust, or other allergens in the air and send it right to your eyes. Do you wear glasses? Maybe you could try getting some clear glasses with just plain glass to shield your eyes.

Yes it is everywhere... I have it on career builder, and Minnesota Job Bank.

I send out a few resumes each week. Its a hard market for entry/intermediate level Admin Asst.

I've gotten a few good interviews lately and get down to the wire but lose out to someone with experience.
