mess4u
I think they will improve my self image. I havent been the same since I had a Baby. I joined a gym a couple of weeks ago and having trouble making my self go. I worried that I am expecting surgery to fix everything and I dont have alot of money so i dont even know how I could feel that way. I need of source of reality and some motivation. Even if I get into shape on my own I still want the implants. I have no one supporting this surgery execpt for my husband. That makes it harder.
Tim'sAngel
I'm in the same damn boat. I asked SO if he would buy me some new boobs and he said he would if I worked out and got the rest of my body in shape. I thought that sounded like a fair trade. I mean the body can get in shape with work, the boobs can't.
Yamaha
What's up with women and boobs? Is your self esteem tied to a pair of breasts? Does it make you feel more of a women to fill out your clothes or is it that you don't feel sexy without other men looking at you? I really want to know why people's self esteem is so tied to their physical appearance and not who they really are? I'm not trying to be argumentative but ladies please expound on this obsession for bigger and perkier boobs.
laRubiaBonita
all i can say is that it is not a permanent fix. implants have to be replaced every 5-10 years..... that is a lot of dough!

A women's beauty is plastered everywhere, on billboards, in magazines, in store fronts.... everywhere, movies, advertisements... Men make such a huge friggin deal about how hott a women is when she walks past, and never have I seen a man whistle at a girl with saggy boobs... SO why do mean make such a big deal about size? Actually, yea thats true, alot of them do. But I met a women at 2004's Super Bowl party who had the tear dropped shaped ones, she let me feel them and look at them, and they looked TOTALLY real!! I was shocked!! It isn't that I want big ole knockers, I just want them to perk up again and be full and a little more firm. I don't like the huge Anna Nicole Pamela Anderson ones!!
jerbear
I personally am a arms and legs man so boobs are lower on my list. Breast augmentation to boost self esteem and ones ego is a big thing for many women and are valid points. Having a child changes a woman's body and sometimes hurts a woman's self esteem and self image. Marilyn Monroe was a size 14 and that was before size deflation took hold. In regards to joining a gym and working out, I commend you for taking the first step. Now keeping it will be another then realizing the benefits months from now. Regardless working out is a good thing and you should keep doing it to keep ones body in shape and those endorphines running around. Before you really consider getting the augmentation, I would suggest talking to some who have went thru the procedure. Even watch a video of an actual procedure if you want to be grossed out. Other than costs, talk to some doctors who have performed the procedures. While you are going thru this screen process, save some money to pay for it. Another thing does your husband like them? sometimes bigger is not better. Going from a C to a DD is not all cracked up to be.

sugarplum
I'm not trying to be argumentative but ladies please expound on this obsession for bigger and perkier boobs. If men didn't care, we probably wouldn't care. Not all cultures are boob obsessed. This is learned behavior. They do have to be "updated" regularly, so you deal with the risks each time. Not to mention the costs involved each time. I have thought about it myself. Actually for reconstructive purposes following breast surgery for a medical problem which left me "different". Insurance wont cover any of it. The risks/complications/scarring were kinda scary to me. And if any complications, etc. were to develop - I dont think that would be covered either. Of course, if you have $ this may be a non-issue.
The slayer
JMO but I think soft round boobs are just as attractive as perky ones...they are just older. Womens bodies change as they get older especially after pregnancy and breastfeeding. I'd say if you stay in shape a really good push up bra can fix anything childbearing and age destroys! I'm not sure surgically fixing one bit of your body will ever really help if you are feeling fundamentally insecure about your body image, you could end up just feeling even more unhappy about some other part of your body. lindya
I need of source of reality and some motivation. Even if I get into shape on my own I still want the implants. I have no one supporting this surgery execpt for my husband. That makes it harder. Women I know who have had that surgery do say that it boosted their self esteem...though not, perhaps, to the extent that it boosted their cup size, or to the extent they hoped it would. One had various health problems for about a year after the surgery. Nothing major, but I remember a while where she was complaining about catching every cold going...so perhaps her immune system was temporarily affected by the surgery. I suppose you have to research the health risks and weigh them up against the advantages/increased happiness and self esteem bigger boobs might give you. Increased self esteem or not, for the weeks after a boob job you're unlikely to feel like undertaking strenuous exercise, so it would make a lot of sense to do everything you can (properly balanced diet, regular exercise) to make sure you're in good shape - and health - beforehand. Also, getting into your best possible natural shape might help you realistically assess the extent to which surgery can alter your appearance/life/state of mind. It's worth bearing in mind that people often experience feelings of depression for a while after cosmetic surgery, and this is probably one of the reasons reputable cosmetic surgeons like prospective patients' mental health to be assessed before any final decisions are made about surgery. Becoming
I know women who had the auto-immune problems after the surgery, too, so bad that they had them taken out.

Joelle
Why do surgery? After surgery, you're still the same person. Truthfully, I don't think your body is the issue. It's your self-perception. Surgery does not fix that. Just my thoughts.
magichands
Why do surgery? After surgery, you're still the same person. Sure, you know that. But the trick is... other people don't.
MarnieGirl
if people want it, they should have it. if not, they shouldn't. crazy concept. in any case, for whatever reason, if you're dong implants, don't do what so many other people do and be all cheapo about it. trying to get the best deal is not the route to plastic surgery.
