LDR but commitments in our countries.

Recommended Posts

Hi all

I'm in England & my partner is in Barcelona-Spain. We met online & we talked on msn & telephone a lot & eventualy i went out there to see her for 4 days. It's only 1 & half hours flying & not too expensive.

I have a job in UK that is just for money & not a career thing, but this year i plan to do a cpourse to start something for me at college & then Uni, something that is a career.

She is at Uni studying Biology & it's been her ambition since 12 years old (we're both late 20's).

She wants me to concentrate on my studies instead of leaving all behind & going there. She is right, i know.

She has just been here for a week & we had such a great time, but i maybe kinda hinted that i could go out there & find a job.

Shes said that i need to focus on my career here & not make her the "centre" of my life & quit all here for her.

I couldn't study there as my Spanish isn't that good, although i have done some Spanish at college.

She is right, but i know i annoyed her by saying i would sacrifice all to be withe her & i feel it kinda pressured her. :(

I shall be going out there in September after her exams & spend a week.

I shall be starting my college & new life with a goal soon after, but it shall last maybe 4 years & next year, she wants a year here in my city's Uni to study & improve her English.

I guess i am impatient, she has more of a career attitude, i haven't.

Maybe she will be here at xmas.

This is maybe a stupid question, but is there a maximum length of time that a healthy LDR can survive & how long have some of you had one that has worked.

She says take it day to day & concentrate on my studies. I guess i think with my heart, rather than my mind.

Any advice appreciated.
