Katja
When I was recently divorced after a very long marriage, I kind of jumped into another relationship right away. Now he has asked me to marry him, and I worry he has damaged his health by heavy smoking (3 packs a day) for years. Although he promises to cut down on the smoking, he is 51 and has high blood pressure too. Is it selfish of me to think this a good reason not to marry him? He will be devastated when I break up with him. How do I handle it? Thanks, Katja
carol
You have been having a serious relationship with this man in spite of the fact that he smokes. Are you sure you are not just using the smoking as an excuse because you are afraid of remarrying? You should think about this. If his smoking is the only real problem, sit him down and tell him that you want to marry him so that you can live a happy life together, not so that you can watch him die of enphazima.
