Mimsicles
My boyfriend of 6months has always promised me he would never do anything to hurt me or cheat on me. I call him every night before i go to bed, but recently i have realised that he has been lying about a few things, he told me he was going to work, so when i rang his work number his voicemail said "he was not at the office". I was very confused. The last couple of nights, i have tried calling him at home and his phone was engaged for 2 hours on both nights, which makes me think that he is talking to another girl. I dont want to think that he is cheating but part of me can't help thinking that he is. What should i do??? I have lived all my life being cheated on and i couldn't cope with it again. Please reply and tell me what you think, i am desparate for advice

Author Mimsicles
I have been with 2 people who swore they would never cheat on me, and i was stupid enough to trust them, so now i find it hard to trust, its because of my past experiences
JadeStar
Next time you talk to him, tell him you tried to call and the line was busy for 2 hours, or cut off whatever you mean by engaged. Also tell him you tried him at work but it said he wasn't in his office. See what he says. Could be just a simple explanation. Jade
typical
The last couple of nights, i have tried calling him at home and his phone was engaged for 2 hours on both nights, which makes me think that he is talking to another girl. He could have that ancient curse known as "dial-up internet" which results in the busy signal...I am assuming you kept calling for 2 hours straight, thus how you know it was for 2 hours. when i rang his work number his voicemail said "he was not at the office". I was very confused. could it possibly be that this is an old message that he failed to change and you just happened to call when he went to lunch or to the bathroom? I dont want to think that he is cheating but part of me can't help thinking that he is. What should i do??? You should be cautious and wary, pay attention to what your body and mind are telling you, ask questions, but dont fly off the handle. Keep things to yourself until you have sufficient proof either way. And try not to let your past get in front of your present...
Author Mimsicles
He works in the computing world and i know for a fact his phone line is not affected by internet. Also if he is on lunch at the office, his calls are diverted onto his mobile, and i tried calling a few times, and still no answer, so i have no idea where he has been. I am being very wary at the moment, and wont do a thing until i know for sure whats going on. Thankyou for your advice
abitconfused
Well I don't think you have enough yet to think he is cheating. I would be worrying too if I had your history. See if he is really interested in doing things with you. If he does not want to go out places ( not just to eat )and be with you then thats a sign. Also ask about what he was doing during certain parts of the day. If he has a genuine answer you will know it. Normally a quick thought to cover won't be in any detail and general in nature. This is so he won't have to remember a "story".
