AceD
Football season is getting closer and closer. I have been practicing and training for about 3 months now. I have worked my ass off in the wieght room and coniditioning.I am going to be a junior this year, and we practice with the seniors. Its very tough playing with them. They have been lifting longer and have had more experience. I get very intimidated when playing with them. I have absolutley no confidence when going up against them. I play Defensive End and lining up with the seniors is very intimidating. And what bothers me the most is, The coach puts up mostly younger guys to practice against the varsity. And we get completly destroyed. I feel like the coach is just using us just so the varsity gets better, it seems like the coaches dont care about the younger class. I love playing but not to the point where its not even a game and its just a mutilation

I love playing but not to the point where its not even a game and its just a mutilation That could be true..the ugly end of the stick. one succeeds where the other fails. But sports is all about teamwork, whoever has the better success rate of scoring, you guys should a good lookout for him. I never was much of a sportsman myself and doubt i ever will be. Back a few years ago i wasnt too confident in cooperating in an athletic sport, not so much in my abilities. since then every now and then i played soccer with pick up groups people meeting from around the city organized online in the local park. All of us were scrubs, definitely a variation in skill levels, however eventually we each developed a certain attribute...being it playing defense/offense, stealing, passing, scoring, goaly. And from there we just play as a team. I mean once in awhile u'll get a skilled player who comes along, who's just hogging the ball...but if it helps the team win then so be it. Playing against skilled players can be intimidating, but dont worry so much of the outcome compared to just having fun. It's all about contributing to the team, if you succeed at what you do the team succeeds, everyone did their part. Even if you dont believe you can succeed (e.g. scoring) doesnt mean you shouldnt try, believe in yourself. And if you screw up out in the field...well sh#t happens, dont worry about it..happens to everyone.
