Self-esteem hurting marriage!

Recommended Posts

I m 24 years old and been married for almost 5 years. We have a 4 year old son. My wife and myself are going threw a tough time right now and I need some help with a little problem that is tearing us up. I have low self-esteem and I always get these weird thoughts about her cheating or leaving me. The thoughts usually end up in a fight because of the way it makes me feel. I don’t know what to do!! I know she isn’t doing anything to harm our marriage, but I just can’t stop getting the thoughts. I have tried everything I can to avoid the thoughts, but seem to always get past. Does anyone know of a method to not think about this anymore? I love my wife, and I don’t want this to harm our marriage anymore for this topic. If anyone has advise please let me know!!

You need some one on one therapy. Just because of your frame of mind and your fears/thoughts of her leaving you.

Google Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and check your local listings in the phone book where you live. CBT is a great type of therapy which helps people with all sorts of disorders. (anxiety, depression etc...) It will help you understand your fears of her leaving you (maybe something from your past, childhood or previous relationships)

The obsessive thoughts you're having WILL ruin your marriage eventually so getting help is the only way. You have to learn how to love and trust yourself. Work on those insecurities. And, make your wife a part of your recovery. She is your wife and she does love you!

Can I ask? Does she actually do anything that would make you suspect her cheating on you? How is your daily dynamtic minus those worrisome thoughts you have?

Also, have you ever cheated on someone before (sorry to ask) because sometimes those who cheat in their past, worry it could happen to them in the future with someone else...(Though I'm not saying this is your situation, so no harm intended, k.)

Hope this helps, keep posting!
