Does he Want to Come Back or Not?

I dated a guy back in 2003 that was in the Military. We dated for 11 months before he went to Iraq. He even had me come to Calif. to meet his family. During his time in Iraq we stayed in touch. However, while he was in Iraq, he told me he didn't want a relationship because he had just gone through a messy divorce. I was crushed and stopped communicating with him so much. He was crushed because I stopped communicating so much. When he returned to my city from Iraq, I called him. He said we would get together for drinks but we never did. He has been back from Iraq now for over a year and every few months he calls me. He came over and stayed with me during the Hurricane and we slept in different beds. He said he just wanted to take care of me. He left some of his things at my house so he has a reason to call or come over.

 

The last time he called, which was a month ago, he wanted to come over to get some of his things because his unit was going on a mission out of the US. I told him I would leave his things in the driveway and he could come and get them. He said please see me before I leave just for a hug. I said no and he begged. I let him come by for a few minutes. He asked me if I was dating anyone and I said no. He wanted to know if he could call me as soon as he got back which would be in a month. I said I know you won't call. He said I want to leave some of my things here just to show you that I will call.

 

Well, it has been over a month now and he is back from his mission and has not called. I am so tired of his games. I don't know what to do. I feel so stupid I fell for that yet again. He has now done this to me four or five times.

 

I want to call him and tell him to go to hell and yet I don't want to waste my time and energy. We are both in our forties. That's a little old for games don't you think? Anyone have any advice?
