age gap

Hi. I have some question. I live in Uk and recently met a girl and we are in love since 3 month ago although we never had sex. our relationship seem wonderful and steady so far. we are thinking to move on to next stage. the problem is that our age difference, I am not sure if it work out as we have large age gap, I am 38 and she is 17. Is anybody in relationship similar to our case? and lasted long? I am not even sure if we are allowed to have sex.

Well, having sex with her wouldn't be illegal, but that doesn't make it morally right. I have to wonder why a 38 year old man would be attracted to a 17 year old child. My daughter is 17 and if I found out she was seeing someone of your age.......I can't put in to words how disgusted I'd be with that man.

I'd seriously take a second to think about this situation if I were you...she's dating someone over twice her age.... I tend to think she has some other issues in her life, like not having a good father, that makes her seek out someone of your age to take care of her, rather than as boyfriend material.

 

I don't think there's any way that this could be a healthy relationship for either of you...in the long term or short term, this will be disasterous.

Right, and he wouldnt have issues for wanting to start something up with someone who is over twice as young as him?

 

I find this very eerie indeed...I mean, she is not even finished with school yet....

 

As far as her "issues" are concerned, I am sure they pale in comparison to your "issues" ...after all, you have had loads more life experience - the kind a young girl would not be ready for.

 

If everything is peachy now, cant you possibly wait a while longer before "moving it to the next level" which basically means, "when can I screw her and legally and morally get away with it"?
