do women find body hair disgusting or not?

Recommended Posts

OK, I'm not gonna jazz it up or anything like that. I'm 19 and I'm hairy, plain and simple. I'm very aware of it and, well, kinda self-conscious about it. I've asked my girlfriend if she thinks I'm hairy, she says yes. I then ask her if it is a big turn off for her, or if she finds it gross. She says she doesn't mind it... and she honestly doesn't seem to mind it too much, but I can't help but to think that she does (which could very well be me assuming she does because I do). In anycase, I have a general wondering, just out of my own curiosity about women's views on body hair. Some of my friends think it's gross, others find it attractive and, as they decribed it, "manly." So what are all of your opinions on this?

Hmmm...I'm a bit picky when it comes to this...

The only part I like a guy to have a bit of hair on is the genitals...wierd, maybe yes, but I can't stand guys who insist on shaving their balls or whatever. Ew. I hate it. My bf only trims his every now and then and that's the way I like it. A fair bit of hair down there, not too much, but not bald either...that can become a ltitle annoying when it comes to bj's, but as long as he has hair there....I won't be complaining.

I don't like really dark, hairy arms....hmmm...I don't know, it realy depends on the guy.

Some guys suit quite a bit of body hair, others look gross. I had a guy I went to school with who had the hairiest legs...*shudder*...they were black, black hairs and he had really white skin....sorry, but *PUKE*...

My bf has olive skin, no hair on his chest, very little hair on his arms, light brown hair on his legs, a manly amount of hair on his goods, and beautiful dark brown hair on his head...this is my perfect image...

But he's my bf...of course he's perfect!! Lol

You will definitely find that alot of women will have totally different preferences to me...but that's life. You cannot go around pleasing everyone's tastes ALL THE TIME.

If you are insecure about it, then do something about it to make you feel better. Go to a waxing place and ask the girl what she thinks is best...

But please don't shave your legs...that's kinda gay...:p

I have never had this problem. I have light, light blonde body hair and my whole life I have never had to shave my legs. It's just that it's really thin and light that from surfing I think it may be, it's kinda all just faded away.

Everyone is different. Some of us are hairy, some of us not. I wouldn't sweat about it too much...if your current gf is fine with it...well, she's the only one you need to please so what's the big deal?? :)

All the best!!

On the whole, women have different attitudes to this but I think I can safely say that they hate it on your shoulders and back. Anywhere else they can learn to cope. If you have it on your shoulders and back and its dark, start saving gor laser therapy.

I like a guy to have some hair on his chest. It's masculine and mature.

My boyfriend isn't terribly harry but he's got a fair amount of hair. He's gotdark reddish brownish hair on his arms, his legs are pretty hairy, and of course the "goods" hahaha. I really like that he has hair on his chest though. I dont know why. When we first started dating it bothered me a little and reminded me of austin powers. Now I could care less, I don't find him any less attractive. But in the beginning I did try to avoid talking to him about his hair happenings until I was comfortable. It's almost like an aquired taste you could say. Like alcohal or coffee< for me at least.

I think my boyfriend's hair makes him look more manly< he's got the attitude to fit it anyways. There are ways to make it work to your advantage. Your girlfriend is probably still not completely comfortable with it so just avoid the topic for a while. If she's shallow enough to dump you for it then she's not worth your time. On the other hand, her coping with it and accepting it should mean a lot to you. Just remember to let her deal with getting over your hair, if it bothers you too much then trim it but don't shave or wax yourself. Work with what you've got.

Haha, no not quite that bad. There is a fair bit, but not enough to pass for a sweater or anything like that.

Then you should be ok!! ;)

Only suggestion I'd make is that shoulder/back hair isn't the nicest, so if you're blessed there, perhaps consider waxing. Waxing would be the best way to deal with it....! :D

I agree that it's manly. I've always preferred hairy chests. I don't like hairless arms and legs. But I agree with those who said hairy backs and shoulders aren't that sexy.

I wouldn't worry about it. As you can see it's just a matter of personal preference.

My SO is really hairy everywhere, he's lovely to snuggle up to. I like hairy men, I think it's masculine and sexy. Before we were together I don't think I even thought about whether I liked hairy men or not, he doesn't like it at all and I think he'd have it all lasered off if we could afford it!

The bottom line is, most women if they love their other half couldn't give a damn about this sort of thing. I'm sure your girlfriend is being honest. Because she loves you, she loves the way you look.

I don't like shoulder or back hair. I also don't like it when men don't keep the back of their neck shaved. Blech. Hair "down there" needs to be kept trimmed, IMO. As for arm, leg and chest hair, I'm okay with that.

Something must be up in the clouds regarding this subject because for 2-weeks it's all I've heard about.

Back hair is a bit odd for me b/c I had never dated anyone with it until a few years ago. If ya got wings...hmm waxing maybe ok, but if you don't want to remove it it's your call.

As for shaved, trimmed, or natural...I think the face and neck for shaving is a must. If you chose to trim the nether-regions, that's all choice too. I like the nat look myself....manly man! Chest hair! That's why we have fingers...to run through their chest hair.

As for complete body shaving....NO WAY. I saw a guy 2-weekends ago walking around with his gf, and his head, arms, and legs were shaven....he was also a body builder. Yeah, pretty boy and not one ounce attractive to me. For some reason he looked more female then male with all the missing body hair.

I don't like hairy asses... you almost get tangled when trying to put it in... yes... in the butt.

It's almost as if I have clear my way to go in... It's bothering me a lot... and hurting her... I think I am either going to stop having anal, and get another girl friend.

My poor jonson can't take it no more.

  • 2 weeks later...

I like hair on a guy to a certain extent. If a guy takes off his clothes and it looks like he's still wearing a sweater, that's waaaay too much.

I don't like them too hairy, I have to admit. But I do like a bit of chest hair on my man.

Anyway, if you are blonde, you can get away with more body hair because it doesn't show as much.

Too much dark hair is gross ... JMO, of course.

male body hair=masculine....masculine=good :)

Male body hair=hairy........hairy=unattractive.

The male body is gross enough to look at compared to females body hair only makes it worse

^^^I think *some* guys have beautiful bodies esp. if they are statuesque. I don't think the male body is automatically gross, though i see some that may need a little work, but then again where I live most everyone is fat (not saying my body is perfect).

Furry chest -- completely covered but not going over into the shoulder area.

Lovely thick trail going from chest ALL the way down.

Hairy legs - of course!

Hairy butt - not so much.:(

Hairy back and shoulders -- nooooo.

But MY MAN isn't hairy. It is one of those things I had to let go of. :(
