ProjectSlug
well anyway, let me explains the situation: in my math class, i spend alot of time talking to this girl, we always talk and smile at each other, im starting to like her. well today, i asked her if she would like to hang out over the weekend (something as friends, just trying to get the ball rolling), and without thinking, with hesitating, she said she had to work all weekend, and then she went into an entire other conversation about her work (i know place she works for, but not which specific one, and theres about 20 in my town...), still smiling and everything...is she just playing hard to get?...could she really be working?...could she just want to get to know me better?, or am i just an idiot? Only one way to find out... Ask her what days she works and when she does have some time off, see if she want to chill with you.

Hitman10000
Of course, according to Cosmo or Rules Book for women, if a guy asks you out over the weekend or asks you out initially they have to appear "busy" , in my experience many girls usually give me default dumb "busy" answers such as "yeah I got work or my friends is having a party, etc" that's fine for the first one or two times, but any more and she's not playing hard to get, but never get at all. The thing I tell my boys is that, if your gut tells you that she's not all into you, trying to avoid you, or even she's stringing you alone - your gut is always right. My recommendation is for you to wait a while (like 2 weeks) and then ask her out, during that period contemplate on other women if possible.
superconductor
...your gut is always right. Wrong, wrong, wrong. My recommendation is for you to wait a while (like 2 weeks) and then ask her out, during that period contemplate on other women if possible. Right, right, right.
Author ProjectSlug
haha, aight, i got another point of view from one of my friends whos a girl, she said that should could be busy, but with something she doesnt want you to know about...but the fact that she continued to talked to you without any hesitation or turning away is a good sign, and that she is probably somewhat intersted as well. and i wasnt asking her out persay, i was asking if she wanted to hang out...when i say that, i usually dont infer to a date, but rather just hanging out with friends, or getting to know new ones, etc.
BlueEyedGirl
Note on "gut instinct": People should never rely on this alone. Gut instinct is clouded either by insecurity leading to negative perception of reality or by wishful thinking (positive perception). To the OP: It sounds like this girl isn't really interested, by talking to you about work (or otherwise known as tactfully changing the topic) she is trying to be nice and let you down gently. If I were to bet on this I would give you odds 1:10.
Author ProjectSlug
haha, i think my odds are worse than 1:10 now...its just seems like we are just friends in class...this is what usually happens to me, but meh, i always have my vice (working on cars).
