my sister's note

I found some post it notes apparently written by my sister, on the floor. It reads:

 

The earth is cold, the field are bare, the branches fold against the wind that everywhere the birds move on. so they survive when snows so deep the bears all sleep to keep themselves alive. they do what they must for now and trust in their plan. if i trust in mine somehow i might find who i am but where do i go from here so many voices ringing in my ear wich is the voice that i was meant to here. how will i know where do i go from here my world has changed and so have i

 

i've learned to choose and even learned to say good bey. the path ahead so hard to see it winds and bends but where it ends depends on only me in my heart. i don't feel part of so much i've known now it seems it time to start a new life on my own but where do i go from here

 

so meny voices ringing in my ear wich is the voice that i was meant to hear. How will i know where do I go from here"

 

She is only 8 years old.

 

I have copied the note in her exact words. Before you jump on me for reading something personal that belongs to her, I found it on the floor in the family room at my parents house. I was surprised how deep my sister can go, especially at her age. Should I be worried? I can't help but feel a bit concerned, 8 year olds shouldn't have to deal with that kind of thing, or be writing that stuff.

 

Should I say anything to my parents?

uh....it kind of sounds like she wrote down some words to a song? I highly doubt an 8 year old, a deep-thinking one or not, could come up with that.

I had the same thought as MWC... so I googled the first 10 words or so in quotes and found that it is a song that is in the movie Pocahontas, on site says that it is the first song in the movie as Pocahontas tries to determine her path. I would say it is harmless, I'm not sure why she wrote it down but I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks everyone, I thought it was really weird for a 8 year old to be writing that kind of stuff. It certainly doesn't help that I'm deaf so I am totally clueless about music! :lmao::lmao:

there could be a reason, though, that she was drawn to that particular song. never know. just because you now know it's a song doesn't mean there isn't a reason behind it.

I'd venture to say she just liked it a lot. She probably doesn't really "get" what it's about really.

 

Anyway, just wanted to say I had to laugh at this too because when I was reading your original post, I was thinking the whole time that my 10 1/2 year old can't write even CLOSE to that well and what's wrong with him, he's smart, etc. etc...ha ha.
