Random vent but still with a question

I don't know where to start. Well I was at a party last night, and yes parties are fun most of the time but I've always felt that some kids don't make a party what it should be, well in my eyes what it should be. I feel like parties are where you can meet great people, talk to people but some kids just seem drunk and belligerent and don't want to give " thinking deeply " enough time. Don't get me wrong I know there are thinkers out there but sometimes I feel like I'm not doing what I could in this life to make me feel like a good better person. I'm not doing anything meaningful that I want to do. I have friends who like to party and have fun, but I want to do what I want to do? but what is it exactly? I don't want to always get drunk each weekend once a weekend or everyother weekend is fine with me! I was speaking with a 30 year old guy from ireland last night, and let me tell you how different ireland people are. Not in a bad way.

 

I'm stating the obvious but culture music passion about things are just different. He came off as a REAL down to earth person who wasn't afraid to be speak the truth. Further in too the conversation he was shocked by me being 18 and my " emotional intelligence"? Or having the ability to think pretty deeply.. Thats when I later found out he was 30 and felt proud of my self that for maybe not lived a full life, but a life in mind. Not being conceided. I just think I'm looking for different types of people in the wrong places, say parties since there " cool " ?....

It sounds like you're much more mature than the people you're hanging out with. You need to cultivate a new group of friends. What interests you? You need to figure out what that is and then go where like minded people are. Do you read a lot? If so, go spend an afternoon at the library or a bookstore. There are all kinds of political and religious groups out there if you're into that sort of thing.

 

Birds of a feather flock together. Go find some birds like yourself.
