LaughMachine
I find babies to be absolutely adorable and cute. Now when they hit the ages of 10 or 11 thats when I will get that ewwwww feeling, because they can talk back..eww Can you imagine seeing a mother with her baby and here you are looking at it with a disgusting look saying eww? haha that would be funny Now what kind of phobia is this, fear of having kids or just fear of kids in general. The spookiness that a baby could just randomly lash out with spit, vomit and all bodily fluids possible? Were you an ugly baby?
cld24
nope, you're perfectly normal. And you've got the guts to admit your fear of babies. I love kids, but newborns give me the heebie-jeebies, and I refuse to hold babies that are under 4-5 months old because I'm afraid of them. And because I find babies to be much more interesting after a certain age ... the good news is that they're infants only for a little while Wow...I'm the same way. I always said I was going to just adopt a 5 year old or older until I met my husband. Now I'm looking forward to us making a "little us"....that is until I have to babysit my niece or nephew! As soon as I have to look after them I just think why would anyone want this loud, crying, always hungry but just makes a mess little thing that doesn't listen?
quankanne
Now what kind of phobia is this, fear of having kids or just fear of kids in general. The spookiness that a baby could just randomly lash out with spit, vomit and all bodily fluids possible? oddly enough, the wailing or pooping or puking doesn't bother me (no matter how little they are), it's just that the brand-new ones scare the bejeezus out of me ... they just seem so fragile, and for some reason it freaks me out, like I could hurt them just by breathing. I'm with Otter on this one – it's great being the aunt: the kids think you're wonderful and that you spoil them, and you get to have fun with them, but you also get to hand them back when they start acting up or you don't want to play anymore. You don't get that option as a parent ...
quankanne
I just think why would anyone want this loud, crying, always hungry but just makes a mess little thing that doesn't listen? the pay-off is there – especially when they begin talking. Then you get your own comedy club at home
LaughMachine
Yeah they start gibb jabing but than as they grow older they gradually get a sense of their words and can talk back. ewwww haha Well guys as much as you are " scared " of babies. we were babies too
CrushedOrgans
i used to be that way until people in my close family started to have children. i'd been the youngest for a long time, i never knew what it was like to have babies around. now i love them. i don't want my own, but i like other peoples'...especially, but not only, if i know the parents. i think it comes with age. and for some people, it doesn't come at all, which is just fine. samsungxoxo
You're perfectly normal. I here, have no desire for kids. Too much dedication and I don't have what it takes to be a mother, don't have patience either.
RecordProducer
I refuse to hold babies that are under 4-5 months old because I'm afraid of them. What can a 3-month old baby do to you, Quankanne? I think you're normal. Trust me, you'll love your baby since day one. I always knew I wanted kids, but I was totally indifferent toward other kids or babies. I never had the "Awww" thing for them either. I loved kittens and puppies, but since I gave birth to my kids, I am not much into animals. I still think they're adorable, but basically not as responsive as I would like them to be. Not to mention when I remember the muddy dogs' paws in the rain, walking them out at minus zillion degrees, and wiping up their sh*t from the carpet!

blind_otter
My sisters have 6 kids between them, all under the age of 6. Whenever I'm around them they just loooove auntie otts, and I like hearing them yell out my name as soon as they walk in the door at my parents house, they recognize my car. My youngest nephew was just born this year right after I got back from Europe in June. He's ok but I like him better and better the older he gets because he can actually respond and make facial expressions I can recognize now. The worst part about the minis is when they sit on your lap and leave a puddle. Or when they eat cheetos and get that cheese powder all over their face and hands and start to smell bad. quankanne
What can a 3-month old baby do to you, Quankanne? STOP SCARING ME, DANG IT!!! Little babies freak me out ... might have something to do with having to support their necks until they can do it themselves, I just feel I could easily "break" one without even trying! though, to be fair, I've been told that you cannot damage or break a baby unless you set out to do just that, they're very flexible. But still .... *shudders*
CynicalP
Now, most of my friends usually make fun of me when I talk about this issue... And yeah I admit it is funny sometimes how when there's a baby all the girls go "awwwwwwww".. except me who goes "ewwwwwwww" and runs the other way.. But nevertheless sometimes I wonder whether there's something wrong with me. I've never been around pregnant women, let alone babies in my whole life. And this whole concept just freaaakkss me out like nothing else. I don't like babies, I've never even touched one. I was at Toys R Us the other day and the whole BABY section just FREAKED ME OUT. I don't know if it's some fear that I just need to get over or what.. The ironic part is that I'd actually like to have a kid sometime in the faaaaarr far future hehe (I'm 21).. but everytime I imagine myself having a kid, the kid is always about like 3, 5, 10 years old.. never a baby. And i cannot imagine myself being pregnant. Umm.. so people, AM I A WITCH OR WHAT?????? I would say no. Sounds like you have a realistic expectation conerning child birth and children. There is no other life alternating event as drastic as becoming a parent. Much of your focus will shift to that of the welfare of the baby. It's normal to fear such drastic changes and the responsibility that parenthood bring. Your still very young and sounds like your not ready for the challenge of being a parent. Nothing wrong with that, go live your life and one day, when your ready, you will have a change of heart and crave the bond of motherhood.

calalily
This is completely normal - and the amount of baby merchandising is stupid as well. Even as a parent of 2 children, there were some aspects that I hated - like really thinking about the alien life inside my belly - that grossed me out, and now when I look at young kids I no longer want one (but mainly cause I have a good memory of kids crying at 2 in the morning etc. lol). Mirage222
I am almost 30 and anti every age child. The whole process - LIFE long process freaks me out from conception to birth (which is a whole nothing OH my Fing God.. there goes my figure type attitude to the time they are 10-16-19-21 forever. Your normal .. I cannot take the thought of having a child wreak my house and home, wet the beds, mess my car with french fry greese ... Yuk and no thanks.

They are not milk producing organs unless forced to become that...... which will never happen...... ewwwwww..... that thought is sucking fluid out of another human......... men have udders...... they just are flat unless they had man boobs. If kids could come in eggs like birds and the H could lay the egg and take care of it until the age of 10 I might consider kids. It needs to hatch and start pecking around for it's own meals. HAHAHHAHAHA!!!! That's so funny Oh don't you hate it when people say, "Oh, when you're ready...you'll want one someday. You'll change your mind. You just wait and see" Well, I heard that for about two decades. Now I tell people my age and that shuts 'em right up (I don't look my age, but I'm a little too old to be told 'you'll change your mind someday!')
rina_r
I dont like kids either. No i love them when they are teenagers - those are fun. Other than that - stupid kiddy books, diapers, and other stuff is not for me.
Great Gazoo
As someone who with my wife are trying to have one, well one that lives anyways its about having a family more than just a baby. I don't think there is anything wrong with you not wanting a child, some day you might, maybe not but each to their own. In fact I would be willing to give up my chance to be a father if nobody could have children. Maybe then there wouldn't be sooo many screwed up people from their childhood who were abused. It makes me f***ing sick about what has happened to children and how it makes their life in the present a disaster and being a man sometimes makes me want to puke at what some guys do. rainfall
I am the same way, everything about babies just grosses me out, starting with being pregnant till they grow up. I can't even handle cleaning up after my cat when she throws up, so I know there is no way I could handle cleaning up poop and puke 24/7. I know I probably offened alot of people when they try to get me to hold their baby and I always have to tell them no, but baby slopper just doesn't do it for me. Everyone always tells me I will change my mind one day but I really don't see that happening.
