luvtoto
I agree with you 100% luv, I had a horrible life-altering experience with seizures and lexapro. If only, if only I had known. The whole reason I started with it was because I wanted something with fewer side effects. I'm bitter. That experience permanently changed me, my memory, my personality even. I think it's a good idea to hear other people's experiences. That way if something bizarre happens you don't freak out and think it's just you being defective yet again. that's how I felt anyways. Exactly, Blind_Otter. Since I took Zyprexa, my memory has never been the same. Powerful drug! I was over-medicated. I didn't need to be on a drug that strong. Misdiagnosed? Yes, I think so. I switched doctors to say the least. Also, in my post-research of the drug, I found out that some people *wanted* to get off it, but due to the bad side-effects they were unable. Which matched my experience. The side-effects I experienced really only showed their ugly head when I tried to come OFF the drug. I think I referred to it as "devil in a bottle". But, hey...that was my experience. I am not a doctor with a degree. Just a human being that was treated like a lab rat. I will never give a doctor that kind of power over me again. Author SoCalCatman72
Hey everyone, Well, it's the first day, I'm a bit foggy, slept almost 12 hours last night. I think I feel a bit better, but it's probably the placebo effect. I've done a lot of research on Zyprexa, and true, it's not for everyone. In my case however I just don't respond to most typical medications. It has worked with some efficacy in the past, and the reason I stopped taking it was that my health insurance lapsed when my brokerage firm went out of business, and that stuff is about $300 a month if paid out of pocket. I'm approaching this treatment as seriously as anyone with any serious illness (i.e. diabetes, leukemia, etc.), I'm keeping a log of my daily moods, and I have been given latitude to adjust my dosage by plus or minus 5mg daily. I appreciate all of your input from both sides of the medical 'coin' so to speak, and those of you with negative experiences are helping me figure out what signs to watch for. God Bless all of you, and thank you all.

God Bless all of you, and thank you all. Good luck! I hope this works for you. I have a prescription of zyprexa to be used to suppliment my regular medication regieme in times of "emergency". Personally, I don't like it, it knocks me flat on my behind and I sleep for a day or so (yay for sedatives). But i do realize the benefits of such a medication, and if it works for you... ROCK ON!!! It seems like you have a very positive attitude about this, so that is certainly in your favour. Good luck with the meds.
