About 7 months ago mom had stroke and i go visit her everyday and i find when i come back i need a drink just to relax. Sometimes i have 1 sometimes i have 3-4. Its just beer i drnk ( nuthing heavy) Its not everyday i drink maybe 2-3x a week. I use it just to relax me. When i was younger ( im 25 now) i drank alot when i was younger but than i stopped for awhile. But now with my mom being sick i drink again. Does anyone think this is a promblem? or am i overeacting? I need some advice any replies are welcome thanks My personal opinion is that it "can" become a habit that's use increases...everybody who drinks likes to have a couple of drinks on a fri or sat...and "acceptable social drinkers" do stop after 2-3 drinks...those who want to get trashed, do get trashed....be careful....eventually, if the habit continues, you trash your liver as well as yourself. Thanks for responding to me ...then yes, do seek out help....if you can say...I will have only two drinks or three and no more...than you can help yourself...if you can not do that then, AA or a support group is a good idea....I've let my drinking, in the past, get a bit out of control because of situations I was dealing with that just made me want to get "f**kd up....but, you see, I knew what I was doing and why...but I started to get used to being that way, if I had nothing to do, it was friday, whatever excuse...and I gained weight, and was drinking too much. I got it under control, lost weight, set goals and have reached them. It takes time & sometimes the support of others...don't be afraid to reach out Link to post Share on other sites
outofdarkness Posted September 25, 2006 Share Posted September 25, 2006 I think it's sort of like when you suspect you SO or W or H of cheating, 9 times out of 10...you're suspicions are correct...If you "think" you might have a problem, then you probrably do..Has your life become at all unmanageable??
