fina872
about ten months ago i spent a week or so in rehab for cocaine. ive been clean ever since so thats not the problem.....against everyones advice i started dating someone who i met at rehab. he was a heroin addict. things were great for a while but the last month or so he has been acting really weird. im a hundred percent sure that hes using again. i havent noticed track marks or anything but money of mine turns up missing, he wont call for days, he makes and breaks plans with me, he lies about who hes with and where hes at, hes always with his cousin who is a huge heroin addict. but everytime i say something about it to him he makes me feel stupid. hes extremely manipulative and i fall for it every time. i just cant let him go because im waiting for him to admit to me that he has a problem or at least that im right in thinking that hes using again. its driving me crazy because its so terribly upsetting to watch someone with so much potential ruin his life. hes been in rehab twice and obviously relapsed. is there no hope for him? what can i do to help him? ive never done heroin so i have no clue what someone is like when theyre using. i just know how addicts in general act because at one point i acted that same way. what are other signs of heroin use? i know his na sponser. should i mention something about it to him? im just really at a loss. lotsofquestions
i am new to this site and i have alot of questions about cocaine use. my boyfriend of just 1 year is using and but tells me he is not i find spoons, syrignes, and burnt candle wax in the bathroom after he spend at least 30 minutes of so in there. like always he says he is not using anymore and that was old, sad thing is it was not there a few days ago. i just wanted to know some signs to look for in him to know if he is still using, also he said that he would do a home drug test but is it not true that you can pass one even if you are using and if so how. sb129
Guys, of course they are using again. Of COURSE they will lie about it to you even though there is blatant PHYSICAL evidence. The addictive psyche lies without even thinking. Don't be fooled by them, you know that they are. Please try and get them help.
Guest
well speaking from experience a user of cocaine and a user of herion show totally different physical and mental characteristics. both are incredibly hard addictions to beat but heroin is by far the more dangerous because chances are you will die from it. cocaine will harm your body before anything else. the key as to whether someone is back using a substance again has many factors. 1. the age the person started using it. if they are young, chances are the do not have the cognitive development of someone who is much older. plus, if someone starts later in life, chances are they have more too lose, hence more reason to quit. 2. the character of the person. do they see it as a CHALLENGE or a test? if they have gone thru tough times before and recovered they know they can do it again? 3. situation - was the usage started simply for pleasure or as a result of something negative. 4. cocaine stays in your system for over a month. even the tiniest trace amount will be picked up on a test. does this person get tested and is going to treatment? 5. has this person admitted it to people who would come in contact with him and would know if he was? for anyone out there struggling with overcoming an addiction - my advice is this - if i can do it anyone can. and this is why - during the time i was addicted i was also seriously depressed and out of work and my ex left me, then broke up and disappeared, then i had two operations. i battled thru all that and have been clean for many, many, many months - and i know i will never ever use again. Ladywithafan
If you are testing for cocaine, you better get them within 72 hours of use...after that time, you do not test positive in the urine...it's weed that stays 30 days...if you are a smoker. but regardless...the signs are there.
