My friend insists on diet pills...i cant stop her

Recommended Posts

I was talking to my friend last night. She is very busy and doesnt have time to hit a gym. She has been watching what she eats for 6 months or more already. She walks extra when she can. She tried to starve herself but only made it to lunch. She cant do that...not that i want her to.

She decided she was going to order diet pills. I tried to talk her out of it but she said nothing i say matters. So i thought i could come on here and see if anyone has taken any that work quick (so she can stop taking them sooner) and something generally healthy? I dont know anything about pills but i heard they werent healthy.

Does anyone know of any without any hugely negative side effects? I have been reading horror stories about them all over the web....

There is a lot of herbal stuff out there but they're probably not worth the packaging they're placed in.

Why doesn't she join one of the diet clubs, like Weight Watchers, or something?

Anyway, there really is no quick fix for weight loss. The faster it comes off the faster it comes back on again. If she really insists on taking some diet pills then at the very least suggest she go & talk to a doctor about them first & not get them from some dodgy website.

Thanks for the advice. I dont know why she is even concerned. she wears a size 5 and used to be a 3. she has like 10-15 pounds to lose. its really nothing. maybe i can still convince her not to use any. i dont know how.

That might work. i have no idea when or how but maybe if we wake up earlier in the morning and walk or something. I am on the way to her work in the morning. maybe she could stop by my house and we could exercise.

I don't know much about diet pills but I do know that starving yourself is not the was to permenetly lose weight. My gf has been doing the "eat nothing at all diet" for the last year and she has lost weight but only to gain it again even quicker (like bluechocolate said the faster it comes off the quicker it comes back on). Curently my gf is the heaviest she has even been, and it makes me think that if only a year ago she started a healthy diet (not starving) she would have lost weight.

Going from a size 3 to a 5 may be a big deal if your friend is on the shorter side. Mt gf is 5 ft 3 inches tall and 15 pounds is really noticible on her where as if she was 5' 8'' tall it would be less noticible.

To sum it up, quick ways to lose weight will not be the best in the long run. Try to make your friend realize that healthy dieting will be more benificial. I am trying to make my gf see this but all she wants to do is lose wieght as quick as possible with as little work as possibe.
