burning 4 revenge
Generally speaking....brunettes I like em all though, even redheads.
magichands
Yes and yes.
Pyro
IMHO, hair color is not a factor AT ALL.
Pink Amulet
I think this is going to be the general consensus on here. Hair color is pretty irrelevant- what's below the head of hair is what really counts... Hold on a second... *looks at "red head" thread* Hey, maybe women really are more shallow than men
lovestruck234
I think this is definitely a personal opinion... My bf has really dark brown hair and I asked him if he likes that I'm blonde. He said he has always been a blonde fan and never really liked brunettes...I know the way that person looks has nothing to do with it, but I got the impression that he would have prefered brunettes..... Sometimes I hate my hair and I wish I was a brunette, but I know full well that brown would just look d*cky on me so I just live with it! Lol I wouldn't worry too much...there is a guy out there who LOVES you the way you are!! Tee hee
magichands
I wouldn't worry too much...there is a guy out there who LOVES you the way you are!! And be prepared to pan through a creekload of sediment to find your gold. Just kidding.
stoopid_guy
I think this is going to be the general consensus on here. Hair color is pretty irrelevant- what's below the head of hair is what really counts...That's true, but I also suspect most people have certain things or combinations that will catch their eyes. For me, dark-brown hair and fair skin will get my attention. Does that mean I'm not a gentleman?
littlekitty
Some like blondes, some like brunettes....!! I've been both! My personal experience was that I attracted a better quality of man as a brunette....!
Spiderman
Hair color is pretty irrelevant- what's below the head of hair is what really counts... I agree and have to say length is the important factor here, especially when the girl is ugly! If you are out of paper bags, the long hair comes in handy. As they say, don't look at the fireplace when you're stoking the fire! Hey, maybe women really are more shallow than men I highly doubt it * This is where PA's estimations of Spidy goes rapidly down hill *

Just curious here. Lovestruck, I am wondering how you could have possibly gotten the impression that he preferred brunettes when he had this to say: He said he has always been a blonde fan and never really liked brunettes Please explain this strange phenomenon

If I wore a denim corset I was called "Country Barbie", a dress with a frangipani on it I was refered to as "Malibu Barbie", if I wore a silk skirt with japanese design I was "Oriental Barbie"... a tiara "Princess Barbie"... you get the point. All of this was from various people, friends, and strangers alike... it almost became impossible to escape a "Barbie theme" of the night but now that my hair is shorter it's... "You look nice tonight" *breathes a sigh of relief* /end rant
SixthSt.Girl
In my experience, people are attracted to features that they don't have (blondes to brunettes, browned-eyed girls to blue-eyed guys, etc). I posted a thread about this on the dating board - Opposites Attract, but not many people responded. It may have been the wrong board for it - I wasn't sure where it belonged. Anyway, I don't think it's true that men prefer blondes - I think it depends.
Lights
Here is a question for all the men out there (and ladies too if you like.) Do men prefer brunettes or blondes? Thanks! My personal opinion? I don't necessarily prefer either. All colors are good to me (let's not forget the red-heads and black-haired people too! ) If it's a question for whether or not to color one's hair, I generally prefer the appearance of a natural color, although some people can pull off an apparently obvious coloration and still have the look fit them. Full disclosure: I'm a man, with black hair.
Jizzosh
I'd have to go with brunettes. It's not so much that however as the face of the girl that attracts me. If she has a pretty face I could care what hair color she has. Well, maybe not red, it depends. It also depends on the hairstyle too, a hot girl with a not so good hairstyle is a turnoff. Author Angel291
Some like blondes, some like brunettes....!! I've been both! My personal experience was that I attracted a better quality of man as a brunette....! Thanks for the replies. I was curious because I recently died my hair a dark brown in an attempt to return to my natural hair color (I was a full blonde for a long time.) I was a bit unprepared for the aftershock. I was so used to being blonde! I am hoping the quote above will turn out to be true. I think it may be, because I noticed when I was blonde men kind of treated me like a sex symbol. I got plenty of unwanted sexual advances and comments and was even groped when out in public, and I do not dress trashy! I am starting to think that what someone once told me is true - that men would prefer a blonde for the night, and a brunette for a wife! Does that mean brunettes are not sexy? Thanks again! Jizzosh
Lol, what's that second to last sentence supposed to mean? Would you rather be treated as a whore or a lady? You're acting like being a wife is a bad thing. I've heard both sides of the story. Some couples get no sex, yet some have all the sex in the world. Wives get a relationship, whores get..sex and no real love.
Author Angel291
Sorry about the misunderstanding. I suppose I did not word things very well. I absolutely do not think being a wife is a bad thing. I would much rather be married any day :-) I am very much a believer in marriage and the importance of the family. And yes, I always expect and want to be treated like a lady. I hope that clarifies things?
Jizzosh
Good to hear that, it clarifies things a lot Still, what do you mean by brunettes aren't sexy though? The fact that men want to immediately do a blonde but not a brunette?
Author Angel291
It is not that I think brunettes are not sexy. Personally, as a woman I have always loved the dark hair look. Whenever I see a woman in a magazine with long dark hair, I always think how beautiful that looks. I have always said if I could look like anyone, I would want to look like Olivia Hussey in the old Romeo and Juliet. But I am wondering why men seem to give a blonde rather than a brunette the impression that they find them appealing. It makes me wonder what is going on in the male psyche? For example, I will be out with friends and if a man sees a pretty blonde, he will just go nuts, making comments about "wow, what a beautiful woman", etc. This never seems to happen when they see a brunette. It causes me to wonder if men find brunettes appealing or not? Naturally I know that everyone has their own likes and dislikes, but just in general I was curious why this seems to be the norm. Maybe the type of guys who let the mass media define what they like (blonde hair, skinny, big boobs) are also the type who like to vocalize it.

SixthSt.Girl
Brunettes are sexy, it's just a different type of sexy. Blondes are fun n' sun sexy and brunettes have the dark and mysterious sexiness. Fun n' sun Barbie beauty is the easiest type of sex appeal to commercialize. It's easier to pinpoint. That's why blondes have the reputation of being sexier, and some men buy into this commercialism. It's also about the connotations that "light" and "dark" have in our society. Light is looked upon favorably, while dark is not - think witches, black rage, etc.
magichands
After reading this thread, I now understand why people colour their hair blue.
pricillia
I prefer brunetts...for men. I think that women that have dark hair have just as much fun as women with blond hair... no knocking anyone just saying...
