SmoochieFace
I don't need to worry about that, seeing as I'll never get a BJ. Well, you won't get one anytime soon with your attitude. Penises that feel sorry for themselves and are combative are not generally considered 'blowable'.
SmoochieFace
Is there any other reason why people do it? Is it because they just prefer the way it looks, is it because they think the opposite sex prefers it? People do it because they want to. Is that a good enough answer? ash519
As for me, I shave the top and very closely trim the rest (the more intimate area) just feels best for me. As for men...I like when a man trims his hair! Makes his package look bigger, and it is so much more clean looking. My bf does it on an occasional basis and i like it that way. Men in the Uk shave there 'down there hair' just as women do it too. Shaving the legs thing is a bit femme but maybe he was a swimmer. Oh- I definately neaten myself up before going to the obgyn! I know she doesnt care, but i just feel better about myself that way.
stoopid_guy
For the shaver/trimmers; What put the thought in your heads to do it? Saw it in a movie? Mom suggested (like shaving your legs?) boyfriend or girlfriend suggested? friend suggested? When did you start? The majority of ladies I've known didn't do it, and I don't but would if asked. So just wondering...
ash519
i just started doing it. When i started getting sexual i realized it was too much, so i started doing it on my own.

Art_Critic
For the shaver/trimmers; What put the thought in your heads to do it? An ex got me started...Thanks A... It caused a fight or two from my end because I was too stubborn and felt it was a rejection of me by her when she suggested I shave. It wound up breaking us up.. I had no idea at the time that it was better off shaved off than not... I've been doing it for a couple of years now and will not go back ..
Jane Doe
I don't understand the hygiene thing. I mean pubic hair is natural, so surely if you have a bath everyday you'll be fine. Yes, hair is natural but it also traps body odor. One reason some women shave it all off is because it makes them feel cleaner and another is because it enhances sensation for her. Ross_K
Well, you won't get one anytime soon with your attitude. Penises that feel sorry for themselves and are combative are not generally considered 'blowable'. I doubt it'd make any difference if I had a different attitude.

blind_otter
For the shaver/trimmers; What put the thought in your heads to do it? Saw it in a movie? Mom suggested (like shaving your legs?) boyfriend or girlfriend suggested? friend suggested? When did you start? You know I always wanted to shave my legs, I actually stole my mom's razor and put shaving cream all over my legs and tried to shave 'em when I was like 3 or 4. I remember being maybe, 10 or 11 and laughing about my older sister shaving her pubes and leaving hairs in the drain, with my other sister. I knew that they shaved, and when I was old enough to have people poking around down there I started grooming too. But I have gone through periods of full bush.
Moai
Don't you worry about the fact that there could be a time you'd have to see a doctor and they'd see? I've read this whole thread, but this gives me pause... Who cares what the doctor sees? Doctors see weird stuff all the time (not that shaving is particualrly weird). I doubt they would even give it a second thought.
Ross_K
Well, over here, if it isn't a common thing the doctor would probably ask you why you shave there and look at you strange, while probably trying not to laugh.
SmoochieFace
Well, over here, if it isn't a common thing the doctor would probably ask you why you shave there and look at you strange, while probably trying not to laugh. The point is, Ross, is that you don't know how common or uncommon it is. You've said so yourself that you haven't 'been around' a lot anyway so how would you know? Even if your GP looked at you 'funny'... so what? Why should he/she care anyway? It's not like they would be sleeping with you or anything. Dude, you gotta do something with those self-conscious insecurities or you're gonna go mad. Seriously.
norajane
Well, over here, if it isn't a common thing the doctor would probably ask you why you shave there and look at you strange, while probably trying not to laugh. I doubt that. Doctors are much more concerned about whether you've been using condoms during sex and if you have any unusual pains or menstrual issues. I started shaving around that area when I was in my teens so that wearing bathing suits wouldn't lead to any visible stray hairs. It's also neater/cleaner if trimmed/shaved when on my period. During sex, things are more sensitive if shaved, so I continue even when it's not bathing suit season or period time. I also think it's a considerate thing to do for my lover. SmoochieFace
I doubt that. Doctors are much more concerned about whether you've been using condoms during sex and if you have any unusual pains or menstrual issues. Exactly. Doctors are, for the most part, 'professional' people and they are not going to concern themselves with such things as a shaved crotch, etc. When I had my first prostate exam (wait til you have one of those, Ross! ) he didn't comment on the fact that I keep the boys shaved... thank god for that. SmoochieFace
No. It doesn't explain anything. It means that people will do what they want to do. Some guys/gals like the 'clean shaved' look, others like the 'trimmed look', and still others like to sport the 'Fidel' look. It's all about personal preferences and you won't know what the preference is for each individual unless you flatly ask people randomly in the street (please don't) or get intimate with someone (much better).
