I say you buy a footy top, some faded jeans, a Burberry scarf and some white nikeys, oh and don't forget the sovereign ring. It's always fun dressing someone else!! I'm more used to Barbie, but Ross will do!! Yep.. I think you described the look Ross is familiar with seeing!! Let's hope he's not right and the whole of the UK doesn't dress like that!!! blind_otter
I don't really think I do dress young for my age really, I mean, people in their 30's seem to wear a lot of the things teenagers wear, and they definatley wear sneakers, the only kind of older clothing I can think of, would be a pair of shoes, pants, and a golf jumper, but then I'd just look ridiculous. I basically wear baggy jeans with fades down the middle and on the butt, sneakers, or catterpillar boots, and tops like sweaters and tee's, the makes I usually go for are Bench, Ecko Unltd, and Timberland. Oh my you do dress rather young for your age....
burning 4 revenge
Oh my you do dress rather young for your age....I don't know what's going on in England, but Ross if you do ever come to America you'll be laughed back across the Atlantic if you're 30 and white and wearing that shyt. Author Ross_K
So what would be dressing for my age? Would it be normal fitting, normal look jeans without fades, shoes and a plain sweater?

Come on dude, I'd never insult the stuff you wear like that. For one I think the clothes I wear really suit me, I look very young for my age, and it's not like they're over the top hip hop stuff. burning 4 revenge
So what would be dressing for my age? Would it be normal fitting, normal look jeans without fades, shoes and a plain sweater?Yeah, but depending on the quality and the brands and your budget. I'm not a chick so fashion advice isn't my line (my sister dresses me-i.e. goes to the mall or online and picks my clothes). I wear kind of preppy stuff, but not expensive. Like sometimes Abercrombie, sometimes Gap or stuff you find at Burdines. I never was into the hip-hop scene, but the stuff you described is either worn by teenagers or black people over here. When I was younger I was more into goth and punk. The only thing I still keep as a feature are my black Doc Martens. I'll always buy those.

blind_otter
All I'm saying is that you don't want to come to America dressed as Ali G Well I agree with you, b4r. But I think Ross put me on IGNORE.
Author Ross_K
Yeah, but depending on the quality and the brands and your budget. I don't think that kind of clothing would do myself or anyone any justice over here, you're basically saying that I should wear unfashionable, bland clothing with no style. I mean, take the faded jeans for example, everyone wears them over here, young and old, and I'm sure it's the same in America. I've even seen some people over here wear slightly baggy ones two, there's this older guy on the TV called Ross Kemp who's in his late 30's early 40's and he was wearing them and actually looked good in them, I really don't see why people would laugh at him. Author Ross_K
Just you Ross, don't be so defensive. Lighten up a little Yeah but surely if I posted back and told you that goth clothing is **** and you'd get laughed at over here for wearing it no one would take it in the same way. burning 4 revenge
I wouldn't get defensive. Bland clothing is good. I don't know what's going on in the UK, but over here Hip Hop fasion is either for young people or it's considered a little vulgar and silly. It may just be a regional difference, I don't know. And I'm just describing the way things are and not my personal opinions. P.S I have some faded jeans, but baggy isn't so good.

I'll show some pictures, people are welcome to give honest opinions.
innocntlisy1981
i agree with ross k my sister absolutly refuses to date someone wearing thongs even if they are good looking some people just have a thing for shoes hahaha:p
burning 4 revenge
You basicaly called my clothing ****. I don't mean to call your clothing ****. I'm just saying that Ecko and Timberland court the 12-20 demographic. And I wore Goth clothing when I was a teenager and in my early twenties. If I still wore that at 32 I'd be happy to have people insult me and wake me up.
burning 4 revenge
My ex from Scotland wore that kind of clothing. I thought he was like 10 years younger than he actually was. Maybe that's the trend over there....I think it's sad that the country that produced the Jesus and Mary Chain is now being dominated by American urban culture.
SmoochieFace
You basicaly called my clothing ****. ... Even if he DID, which I don't think he did, so what?! Ross, do you base your self-worth only on what other people think and say? God, man, let it go. Wear whatever YOU are comfortable wearing and quit 'worrying' so damn much about what others think. Please!
blind_otter
You basicaly called my clothing ****. WEll that was a bit of a leap. He wasn't calling your clothes ****, just letting you know that cultural differences are present and advice from Americans may not be applicable to you. Calm down. Not everyone wants to make you feel bad. In fact we want you to feel GOOD, Ross. 80% of communication is your own personal interpretation of what people are saying.
burning 4 revenge
You know what would be cool is if the guys from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy paid you a visit. emmaUK
im sorry to say this and sound very shallow but footwear on a guy is very important to me. in fact everything he wears is important to me but i just couldnt date someone who wears shabby old footwear, out of date footwear, ugly horrible footwear etc etc etc. and now im gonna sound even more shallow but i am very put off with a guy who doesnt wear top brand trainers. i guess its coz i like the best in shoes and trainers myself so go for guys with similar opinion. how teenage girl-ish of me
