napoleandynamite
How much does a Pre-School teacher make? I know it can vary depending on location...but what's an average for a Teacher (not a Teacher Assistant). Would they hire a person with a BA in Communitions? They require an AA in Early Childhood Ed. What is the best approach to getting a position as a Teacher (only!) since my credentials differ. Just curious.
alphamale
How much does a Pre-School teacher make? Well let me put it this way....the people who work at Burger King laugh at a pre-school teacher's hourly pay.
Author napoleandynamite
It's that bad? I knew the pay wasn't exactly fabulous, but I wasn't aware it was quite that low. Well, Alphamale, what suggestions do you have for someone with two degrees in Communications, no technical skills, and a background in secreterial work? I have no interest in continuing in this field of work after my current job. Is there anything you recommend that is a realistic goal? My interests are writing, cartooning, working with people, etc. My computer skills are Word, Excel, PPT. Alphamale, please try to be somewhat serious when you answer me, do not be sarcastic on this post. Thanks.
Kenyth
Send them your resume. You'll never know until you try. Also, take as many interviews as you can get. They are a valuable learning experience on selling yourself, regardless of your field. No, pre-school teachers do not make much. They are basically day-care workers. The job is probably a blast for people who love kids though. Have you thought about an entry level financial position at a bank or credit union?

Author napoleandynamite
No, I have never considered an entry-level position with any financial institution for two reasons: 1. I worked in a bank throughout my college years (5 1/2 yrs to be exact), I hated it and made persistant mistakes. 2. I am HORRIBLE with numbers, even doing the basics of math/finance I have trouble with. Math is one of my GREATEST WEAKNESSES. I am more a creative type of individual. I am open to suggestions other than being basically a slave or a second wife for a job.

Author napoleandynamite
I think you may be right. But I've never done PR before. What would I apply as?

Author napoleandynamite
Hi Riddler: I did google it...thanks. Looks like they have titles such as PR Director, PR Assistant, Coordinator, etc. I will definetly look into it. I researched more info on the job, sounds like it may be a good area for me...writing, helping people, networking, pretty rewarding.
