whichwayisup
Who am I. This all just jumped out at me in the past week or so. I'm not me! I don't feel like me, I don't act like me and something is missing. And it's gonna get fixed fast because I don't like how I'm feeling inside. Got some blood tests done, I finally got an appt to see a Dr on Tuesday so hopefully by then I'll know 100% WTF is happening to me. My best guess is my B12 levels are dropping off and I need B12 shots. I recognize the symptoms...Just really hoping that is what it is and not something serious. I hate this time of year, the weather changes, the change in the clocks so we lose an hour of light. Maybe I should have posted this in the rant section again, not really looking for advice, unless some of you are feeling really BLAH right now too. IN general, I just feel bored, not wanting to talk to anybody, see anybody or DO anything. As I said, this all just came on really fast - Less than 2 weeks ago I felt pretty good and was feeling social. Now all I wanna do is hibernate. I just Tuesday to come so I can deal with whatever is wrong with me.
magichands
IN general, I just feel bored, not wanting to talk to anybody, see anybody or DO anything. For me, that's perfectly normal. Don't fight it. Eventually you'll develop a sense of humour, start talking to yourself...and occasionally laugh at your own jokes. People are weird. You seem fairly likeable - are you part bear?? That might explain a lot.
ConfusedGal
I feel like this often nowadays... Like i lost "me" somewhere...Everything is fine in life but I just feel like it all just sux and I wonder "is this all there is to it?" Anyways, like you I also am experiencing health issues too... My hand has been numb for 3 months... Doc did a brain MRI and found 5 benign lesions, but now they are testing me for multiple sclerosis. So big quandry over that too... magichands
My hand has been numb for 3 months That might do wonders for my sex life. But seriously, I'm really sorry that you are having these health problems. Hopefully there will be a resolution for you soon. It sure makes you think, and not take your health for granted. Which is silly, nothing I can do about it, I know it's coming. But yeah, I get the same way, especially this year with everything I've gone through lately. I hate the drive home from work in the dark. I put off getting gas until I'm about to run out, I hate taking the trash out, getting the mail. I wish humans hibernated! Hope everything goes ok with your tests!

Guest
If I recall correctly you're in your 30s, right? If so, read up on perimenopause. Of course see your doctor and get things checked out, but don't jump to the conclusion that you're in a bad way. It could just be dear old nature telling you that time is passing. For the next while, pay close attention to how you feel at various stages of your cycle.

I am pretty sure it's the B12 deficency again, but I won't know for sure until the blood results come in and I see the Dr on Tuesday. I highly doubt I'm perimenopause... TheSilentType
WWIU, I doubt its perimenopause. You are too young for that. I'm thinking its maybe something psychological....like a minor case of seasonal affective disorder. Maybe you see that its getting darker earlier, and it kind of effects your mood. Have you had any recent stressful events in your life? Maybe this could be a reaction, albeit delayed, to that event. Anyways, go to the doctor to rule out any changes in your body. Get better WWIU! littlekitty
Hope you feel better soon WWIU. Do let us know how you get on!! I personally dislike this time of year too! I love the sun and summer months. The dark months are depressing at times. I think many people suffer mild SAD, we wind down and seem to be on more of a 'go slow' around this time of year. The only reason I'm starting to like this time of year is the fact that I'm getting married this time next year!!

Keep us updated. My thoughts are there too, I'm TOO young for that. Yup part of this is combo SAD and (more than likely) the B12 levels are off. No recent stresses, just the usual stuff. Thanks for your reply. Hope things are good with you! Hope you feel better soon WWIU. Do let us know how you get on!! I personally dislike this time of year too! I love the sun and summer months. Hey, great distraction, get married during the SAD months! It starts in the 30s. Hence 'peri'. Well, maybe so, but I still doubt I'm in the Peri-time..
Yamaha
Have you checked for pregnancy , WihichWay?
Author whichwayisup
LOL! I know I'm not pregnant seeing as I've not had sex since my last period. See? Another symptom to know that something in me isn't right. I'm NOT horny. At all.
Yamaha
LOL! I'm NOT horny. At all. This is not the Whichway I know. Get yourself to a doctor girl and get back to the horny gal we all love.
Malady
I think it's the time of year. I fall apart every year at this time. Hate it when the trees go naked, the snow starts falling, and the temperature gets down right bitter .
Author whichwayisup
I was right, it was my B12 levels! They dropped, enough that I do need the B12 shots again. What's odd is I haven't changed my eating habits so I am wondering if I have a mal-absorbency problem with B12. Anyway, thanks for all the replies and hopefully within a month or so I'll feel more like myself again!

RecordProducer
Perhaps it's related to hormonal fluctuations. I used to feel like doing nothing on the first 3 days of my period about 10 years ago. I couldn't even read a book or a magazine. I could just lie down and watch TV. I felt so weak and brainless. You might be anemic, too. Hope you feel well very soon.

Author whichwayisup
oh come on RP, you mean you could not even crack open Cosmo?? stop the histrionics Thanks Madaline and RP for sticking on my thread topic and not going off topic like alphamale! He should be spanked now! Anemic, not yet but if I didn't get my levels checked and do something about this now, probably would end up that way later down the road! *goes and finds wooden paddle*
RecordProducer
oh come on RP, you mean you could not even crack open Cosmo?? stop the histrionics Urgh... I hate that magazine! It's all advertisements that cost thousands of $$$ each page. And they are selling it to you! And that's not the worst part - women are actually buying it! Imagine that you had a subscription for a TV channel where you only get to watch commercials! I grab one of those magazines when I do my cardio - the sexy skeletons motivate me to lose weight. I also read some of those gossip magazines sometimes (rarely though) when I crap... think inspiration! *goes and finds wooden paddle* No, you need an iron knife to swallow to raise your Fe. Ssheena
What happens if you take Stress vitamins? If I remember correctly those are all (mostly) B vitamins. I used to get so wired off those - gave me tons of energy. I have also figured out (after living in Vermont for 8 + years) that I suffer from SAD. Even here in Colorado where it's sunny 300+ days a year, I get it. I bought myself a light that I can set to go off about an hour before I'm supposed to wake up that simulates natural sunlight. Starts off very faintly and then gets brighter. I also, I know it's bad, I know it's bad, like to go to a tanning salon in the winter. I do think the best solution would be for me to just follow the sun...can you imagine that? Never having winter or fall? and just going to say...Fiji or some other South Pacific Island in Oct and coming back to where you live in May... I would love to do that and see how my moods were. Perimenopause - in your 30's?? Don't think so. You may start noticing a difference in your early 40's but not now. There is lots of info out on the web on SAD. Best wishes! Author whichwayisup
Well, B12 shot! SO in the next few weeks I should be feeling alot better and continue even more so in the upcoming months. Ssheena, I have a SAD light at home, so I know that will help me during those yukky months of not enough light. The stress vitamins = B12 which is what I'm getting right now. 3 months then we'll do more blood work to see where my levels are at.
