Mydish1
For those of you with experience in online dating around what time frame do you guys meet up in person? Anyway a couple days ago i responded to this ad of some girl with my pic. A few hours later i got a reply back with her pic. She seemed enthused and she mentioned a couple of interests we had in common. So the next day I wrote back asking her name (as she never included it), and i said that the following day I would be out and said if you're free lets grab coffee around noon and to let me know. I took it as a hint because she mentioned something about coffee to warm up in her previous reply. And besides, im not a fan of the whole getting to know someone over the web thing...as it's hard to build attraction behind the computer screen. Im not desperate to get into her pants, but whether or not she could make it im not sweating over...I just think it would be fun to get to know her and see if anything is there. So I think I may have screwed up by asking too soon to meet in person, to her I'm a total stranger and might think I just want to get into her pants. And the thing i know about online ads is its shady as she has other potential prospects. Well I havent heard back from her. So i guess if anything, im just trying to learn from my mistakes. If anyone has experience in this please post...
CurvyGurl
For me, anywhere between a week and a month, depends on the guy, for me. If we seem to hit it off intially, I like to meet very soon. I want to get it over with if he's a dud, but more importantly, I want to move it offline as quickly as possible. Here is my thing... it's online DATING. Not online PHONE NUMBER EXCHANGE or online 'hi my name is joe, I don't like typing, call me so I can be comfortable while YOU'RE uncomfortable' <--- I get this a lot. If you're going to search for women online, follow the natural progression: One of you responds to an ad > You share a few introductory emails > You move to either the phone or an instant messenger program and THEN the phone> You arrange a short daytime meeting just go lay eyes on each other> you arrange a full date. Varying from this without her prompting you to do so will likely scare her. She'll think you're too eager to meet her and maybe will tie her up in the basement and feed her cheese and water. If anyone has experience in this please post... I personally have no set time period. If the person is attractive I want an intelligent email to follow behind it. After a few emails ( I despise the messengers ~ no time to sit on those ) then if I or he suggests a phone call then that part is done. If I like his personality then a few phone calls and then a public meeting place is in order. No big rush on it but if you having major chemisty then the rush is on lol.. Quinch
I would say a week or more is ideal but not more than 3 weeks. Start off with swapping messages then email addresses, then phone calls and texts. You should be getting pretty comfortable talking by now. On the day before the first meeting text her to say how you're looking forward to tomorrow. A couple of times I've dated girls after only a couple of messages or 3 minutes on the phone. They didn't work out because I still felt like I was talking to a stranger - not a friend. Good luck.
