samsungxoxo
Ok I'm not much of a nutrionist or a vegetarian (which I'll never be anyways). Anyways I could literary finished 3 plates in 30 minutes or less (18 mins) and well I beat everyone in it when it comes to food. But see the reason I'm asking is b/c when I went once to this chinese buffet (with my friend, her guy friend, and my date who's now my b/f). I noticed when I was already on my 3rd plate (lol, one time I ate 4 plates plus 2 soup plates, total of 6 plates, oh and the desserts also), they were all still finishing the 1st plate. Then this other occassion was last week when I was with my b/f. I had finished my plate in like 10 mins or so and he was still not even half-way done. I also noticed the other people sitting there are still on their plate while I'm done already. I have already been told by my friend and my b/f that I eat fast and don't really chew, instead swallow more and that it's bad. So far, I have no cholesterol and complications with my heart nor breathing, nothing.

Do you talk with your mouth full?
whichwayisup
Why is this posted in the sex section?? Just curious. How do you feel when you're finished eating? Bloated or very full? Sometimes when I'm out a restaurant, I eat fast, but I know it's because of childhood/teen memories of being out with my family....Sooner I eat, the sooner I could leave! LOL! westernxer
I eat fast and can't stop myself from doing so, even though I'll go into a meal telling myself to chew slowly. Doesn't work. By the third bite the beast inside takes over, and that plate is history. I only eat when I'm hungry and rarely eat to excess, and the beast likes it. So do I.

Author samsungxoxo
Why is this posted in the sex section?? Just curious. LOL, you're right it doesn't make sense. I meant to put it on the fitness health section and when I saw where I put it on, it was too late, wrong forum, LOL. How do you feel when you're finished eating? Bloated or very full? When I'm done, I'm very full. Lady like or not lay like, I can't help it. If I were to follow the rules of eating slow or eating little I would already be freaking out, when I'm hungry that plate is gone in minutes, then comes another plate, I don't get fulled easily. By your post alphamale, seems to say that if a guy were to eat like that, then no big deal, but not a girl. But see when I'm eating, I do make sure I clean myself with a napskin and I always make sure not to leave all a mess, so I do have manners. You can eat all you want as long as you have manners. In fact, I detest people who strave themselves or those that get full plates only to leave a lot of food and throw it away, geez if you know that your capacity isn't that good enough then don't get a lot only to not eat it. magichands
How do you feel when you're finished eating? Bloated or very full? Is this all-you-can-eat, or am I paying pro-rata for the food? That's about the only thing that makes a difference for me. If it's all-you-can-eat, then I can't move for hours afterwards.

It's an all-you-can-eat (also like that where I'm working, lol, I work in a buffet dinning service). But I can recover very fast, I could move in a few minutes later. Author samsungxoxo
You have a stomach of steel. Do you like spicy foods? LOL, I been told that lots of time and still told that nowadays. It depends on what types of spicy food, not all of them, but do like those from my homecountry. There's only one thing I'm slow at, ice-cream, that I can't figure out how would someone be able to finish the ice-cream so fast (lol, the only weakness).
Ross_K
I think I eat at a normal speed, but boy, do I like to eat a lot, and all sorts of stuff too. The ice cream's the same for me Ailec, it's too cold to eat quickly, it either hurts your teeth or you get an ice cream headache.
Guest
It's another sign that you can't control yourself. Just like when you're angry. You can't use your 'brakes' the way most of us do. It's not a good thing.
TattooedPrincess
Hoovering in your food at warp speed will not only make you look like you just walked out of the Neolithic ages, it also encourages weight gain. if the food isn't chewed up well, it's difficult for all of the nutrients to be absorbed in the digestion process. This, in turn, can lead to the body seeking out more food to make up for the nutritional deficit it senses due to improper assimilation. Eating food fast can be bad.
amaysngrace
scarfing down your chow is not lady like I agree completely!! Nothing like seeing someone in public eating and they never come up for air. They just shovel it in and never even straighten up their neck. It's very poor manners. Plus, it takes around 30 minutes for the stomach to send the message to the brain that it's full. If you scarf down lots of food in that 30 minutes, you are most likely overeating. And your stomach is probably stretched out as a result (on the inside and possibly on the outside too ) If my kids ever pulled that crap, I'd take them into the restroom and smack them on the back of the head. Just like my parents would've done to me.
Spinderella
Eating fast makes the food more acidic, and eating slowly makes it more alkaline. Also if you eat fast, you cannot tell when you are full or not, so you eat more than you need.
Guest
Eating fast makes the food more acidic, and eating slowly makes it more alkaline. That's impossible. Sorry.
rainfall
I usually ealt pretty fast just because I don't really like eating so I want to get it over with as quick as possible. Everyone already tells me I don't eat enough so if I start eating slower I would also probably eat alot less, and I don't need the headache of hearing how little I eat even more. bluescreenlife
someone's already mentioned that chewing the food properly makes it easier on your stomach and helps you absorb more nutrients. Not to mention that consistently overstuffing yourself will stretch out your stomach, and in time you'll need more food to feel full with that bigger stomach... so when your metabolism slows down due to aging weight gain can easily happen. Also spiking your blood sugar can make you tired when it wears off, though that depends more on what you're eating. Also, if you slow down you get to taste the food. I suggest you chew a bite of favorite food very well and let it rest on your tongue, taking the time to really experience the taste. Yum. =) Also, have a look at the food, notice the presentation, the smells, think about where it came from. A meal can be a pleasurable and very relaxing experience and is not something you have to see as a waste of time.
