LaughMachine
Who watches the lisa williams show? On lifetime, I do believe in an after life now FOR sure. There are things she doesn't know that she comes about knowing when meeting the person. Do any of you know for sure that god has turned around your life? When you handed your life over to God. jw
NTB
Do any of you know for sure that god has turned around your life? When you handed your life over to God. *raises hands* praise Jesus he turned my life around.......true story i've never seen the lisa williams show, i guess it must have to do with her and God
quankanne
kinda hard for me to relate to the born-again experienced because I was raised by a believer to be a believer ... and still am, even though I'm bad about missing Mass on Sundays. has God turned my life around? can't answer that either, because he's always been present – I've not been in such a bad place that he's had to turn it around, I guess is a better way of saying it. Pyro
I've never watched the show myself, but I know in my heart that God and the afterlife does indeed exist. I can't put into words what impact God and God's word has had in my life but God has a huge impact on who I am on a daily basis.
Author LaughMachine
I'm not sure if the lisa williams show really represents god. But it is very poignant and interesting to watch. She really speaks with the dead and visits places that are haunted. Well I want to go to church, and I coulden't make it with my friend this weekend because I got off work really really late, and she was going early in the morning.
Pyro
IMHO, it is impossible to speak to the dead and I don't believe in ghosts or anything being haunted. I don't think the show does represent God.
Author LaughMachine
Yes it is possible, watch the show. It's not some cheesy hoax go to her site. And It doesn't really have anything to do with god . Thats why those statements were both in different paragraphs. It's impossible that she can't talk to the dead with the stuff she knows.
Pyro
When it comes to ghosts or anything along those lines, seeing (not on TV, but IRL) will be believing for me, but until then, we agree to disagree.
Author LaughMachine
Some people are really born with a 6th sense. Some do have the ability to see things others don't. Now I hate argueing but there is nothing wrong with " debating " haha. Well watch the show your self riddler! Monday nights at 9. Or just go to the website. How else can you explain the stuff she doesn't know, but does when meeting these people? They show her things they tell her what to tell their loved ones who are in grief. I'm sure that they woulden't make a T.V show of a hoax? Who knows though, this lady seems for real. And I defiently believe her. Watch watch watch

Some things in this world are an unexplainable phenomina. Nothing wrong with debating at all, just as long as we keep it clean, which sometimes seems to be a problem here. Next Monday, I have a date with the television, a comfy sofa, and a big bowl of fettucini.
Author LaughMachine
yay and you better tell me how that goes! Okay monday at 8 riddler sorry...and there should be re runs on lifetime...I'm not sure though! I LOVE the show haha
pureinheart
hey Laughingmachine.... I saw the commercials and mostlikely she can see into the spiritual realm, although I believe it is demons she is in contact with.... God is always turning my life around, a continuous process! I get into messes and God gets me out. I don't know how people do this life without God, without an extremely close relationship with Him....this last mess though, I knew I was on some real shakey ground..... Why would God keep letting you get into messes in the first place if he has so much control over your personal life? Maybe it is harder to know that you have to get out of the messes yourself and you are totally responsible that you got into them and you have to get out of them yourself. I have not seen this Lisa person but if she is anything like John Edwards I would have to laugh. I myself have been called a "witch" because I know things, it is not esp. It is called being aware of subtle clues, reading people is just that...... picking up on any small signal and you expand on it. It could be she actually thinks she has special powers because she does have a hyper sensitive awareness of subtle clues. Now if I can only figure out the levitation trick David Blaine does I will be satisfied and attempt that one myself.

Maybe it is harder to know that you have to get out of the messes yourself and you are totally responsible that you got into them and you have to get out of them yourself. god 'lets' you get into messes for two reasons. one, because without free will to get into messes, your life would be little more than a puppet show. two, one of the purposes of your life is to learn from those messes how not to get into them in the future - to learn that your circumstances are a reflection of your level of conscience. people who don't learn this keep repeating the same mistakes and we all know lots of them. look at the LS faithful for starters! god is not some giant cosmic pooper scooper who exists for the purpose of cleaning up your crap. people who know god NEVER take the attitude that god is responsible for everything so it doesn't matter what you do. that is what atheists commonly (wrongly) think believers think about god. the whole purpose of growth towards god is to learn that YOU are responsible. anyone tells you differently, they don't know god. they might know religion, but that's a whole different kettle of nuts. Author LaughMachine
Ive read small parts to everyones additional opinion to this thread but I have to say thanks riddler for being an outgoing nice person. Hahaha Lisa williams is not speaking to deamons......she is speaking with spirits from the after life. John edwards can't even compare to Lisa. There are such things as spirits regardless of anyone else says I am 100 % sure there are. I doubt lisa williams would be speaking to deamons and than having interviews with people all over the world telling them of what their loved one is trying to tell their family ( the one's who are alive ). Sorry if that sounds confusing. I'm not a stupid gullable person. I easily see through the fakes of the paranormal world but I am convinved that lisa williams is real. I guess some people are born with this gift....There is no way anyone can watch that show and deny her as being real . How can she be talking to deamons? either way she is talking to the spirits of the after life. You might be religious but your religion is based on your upbringing and your built in thoughts of the bible. Not critisizing at all. You can explain to the world of how god does this and god does that. But I find it sad for people who are not open minded to things that could possibly be true. I believe in god. I don't believe in a certain sex a type of look for god. But just a force that is above us all. I refuse to believe anything that is in a book and I refuse to pass up stuff because It's considered " sin ". I think my own way and believe my own things regardless of other peoples opinions on life or peoples opinions towards people like lisa williams. Watch her show and don't just watch commercials. If were here right now than I'll be damned if anyone is going to say that spirits don't exsists. There is this life and there is an afterlife.
Pyro
Anytime. You are right. We all have the right to believe what we want. No one knows the absolute truth. All that you can do is pick a faith and follow that faith.

No need to attempt to convince me, either. I mean of your beliefs, good for you, but why the need to pipe up on a thread about God if you don't believe? I'm just saying. OP - I lacked faith for many years. It was my lack of faith that made my life so hard. We all go through trials and tribulations. Hell, my father endured things that no human being ever should. He actually did crawl through miles and miles of fields of dead bodies alone behind enemy lines. But it is my faith that tells me that I can survive, no matter what, and that I can battle my demons inside myself and always strive to be a better person. Always striving, never quite achieving I feel God everywhere. I can't deny God. But I won't say I understand God either. That would be like an ant trying to say they understand the cognitive processes of a human being. How egotistical.

Op stated in a few posts up "I don't know how people get through life without God"..... so I said why I don't. I thought this thread was about a crazy lookin' chick that talked to dead people anyway? (she is the one with the wild hair right?) I never saw her, but many seem very convincing. Of course through the magic of television and editing they can seem even more convincing. David Blaine is an awesome example of one that can fool people even in person.
the_alchemyst
god 'lets' you get into messes for two reasons. one, because without free will to get into messes, your life would be little more than a puppet show. Free will and god simply cannot coexist.
SoCalCatman72
Free will and god simply cannot coexist. Why do you say that?
the_alchemyst
God is claimed to be "all-knowing." (Amongst many other things.) So, if it already "knows" everything, that means it must know everything that has happened, is happenining, and will happen, with each and every living thing. If he already knows all of this, then things must be predestined. It things are predestined, they are already laid out for us. If they are already laid out for us, how can we have free will?
SoCalCatman72
Wow, that is a thought provoking statement. Ok, so God is all knowing, and that means He knows what will happen to each of us, however knowing and intervening are two seperate acts. Could it be possible that He knows, but allows us to choose our own way, though He knows that our choice might not be the best one. Predestined in my mind means that it will happen no matter what path we choose. I don't think that our life is predestined, but more like a maze. God knows the way through the maze, but He allows us to choose whether to turn left or right at each intersection. So while the endpoint is predetermined, free will allows us to determine how we get to the end, if at all.
the_alchemyst
Could it be possible that He knows, but allows us to choose our own way, though He knows that our choice might not be the best one. Alright. I have X and Y choice. God knows I'm going to chose Y, but I don't know yet. I keep thinking which choice to make, and end up choosing Y. Free will, right? I could have chosen X, but I didn't. Why not? Because if god already "knew" I was going to pick X, since it is "all-knowing," then I didn't really have a choice to begin with, did I? Wow, that is a thought provoking statement. Not really, I'm just crazy.
