Ashes everywhere

I need a positive way to deal with all this stress.

I think my problem is I blame myself for my mom, who's dieing from cancer, and it's being pent up and causing me to fail tests. Usually I'm a pretty brilliant guy, but I feel like I can't do it anymore.

Of course the cancer is only part of that problem. My dad is drinking (a lot). My brother is wearing make-up. My sister hates me.

I'd really like a way to help deal with this stress. I meditate, run, and try to suck up the pain, but it's still there everpresent slowly causing me to lose my f**king mind.

You may need more than meditating and running - those are good for your everyday regular brand of stress but you've got the king of stress and his whole court moved in on you.

It might be time to see a therapist - someone who can talk to you about all these situations, help you maintain perspective, and suggest other measures you might need to take to help you cope with everything.

You will survive this. It will be awfully difficult at times, but you will be ok.

I'm sorry to hear about your mom - I know how hard it is dealing with a parent who has cancer. My father had cancer, then went into remession, unfortunately he didn't win the battle.........

I agree with guest, maybe talking to a therapist could help you cope with what's going on in your life. And, the therapy could help you and your sister to become closer. Right now family is everything!! Even if your brother is wearing make-up, he's still your bro and he needs you just as much as you need him.

Do you have aunts/uncles, extended family who can help you through this too? Talk to them, don't shut yourself down - It's not healthy to do.
