Heavenseventeen
GreenEyedLady, you might wanna be careful though. I used to drink a lot of soda myself, and I was a size 1. It wasn't until a few years later that I started putting on weight and realized I should've been careful to begin with. I still drink soda (Coke Zero), and I can't seem to get rid of the habit. I'm addicted. True. It's not about gaining the weight, but drinking it STILL means you're destroying your insides.
shoesies05
Yup, yup, exercise and a reduction of fat and excess calories. I recommend exercises that are higher in reps and less in resistance, if there's a specific area that you're trying to slim down in. You don't want to bulk that area up by doing resistance training of any kind. Yoga and pilates are good ones for longer, leaner, more flexible muscles. actually i thinnk that you should do less reps and higher resistance. Many studies show that muscle burns calories what like 3x or 4x faster. Also it will help to make you body more lean looking once you shed the fat. Maybe see a fitness training for 1 month if you can afford it to give you that extra push to get up and work out, and then you'll be into the habit of it by the end of the month so it wont be so diffucult to get yourself to workout. There's no such thing such as spot reducing, so you can just make your stomach small while having a big butt or whatever. Take small steps, sign up for support systems maybe. Definetly keep a food journal. Cut the soda, not only is it bad for you but there are so many calories in one can of soda that not drinking soda alone will make a huge difference. It also can make you look bloated from the gases. Also try to stay away from salty foods, the salt makes you retain water and bloat up. Try to avoid fast food, but if u do get a burger just remember to take it easy on what you eat for a while. You can indulge, enjoy things you like... just in smaller quantities. just try to eat right, we all know what that is essentially. Don;t forget the portions have to be small though, the portions we make today are way more than they should be. I personally like to eat many smaller meals a day, cuz it feels like im not starving myself from a diet, i love food so i love to eat, and it keeps me satisfied.. no midnight meals. Although im alwys up really really late! good luck!
lawyer83
Hi, I just wanted to suggest going to a good acupuncturist/herbalist for a diet assessment. I went to a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine and she totally put me on a diet that works for me. I've lost 16 lbs in 2 months (6 since the first of the year). Of course, I had to make a lot of lifestyle modifications, and these will pretty much have to become permanent. I've given up caffeine, dairy, sugar, alcohol, and all canned foods; I switched to soy milk, consume more fiber, and I also make it a habit to eat fish twice a week. Yes, I know it seems like I've given up a lot, but what I've gained has been well worth it. Since modiying my diet I have bcome more energetic. I'm actually pretty full of energy first thing in the morning. I also sleep better, and I am losing weight with little, or no effort. Furthermore, I feel like my brain is functioning a lot better, and I know it's because I'm eating the way people are supposed to when they want to enjoy optimal health. If TCM is too out there for you, then I suggest meeting with a good nutritionist.
