interested in marriage

I have been in a relationship with a married man for the last nine years. I am a christian and he is a muslim. We have a son. I have been expecting this guy to propose to me for so long but nothing doing! I know some of you will ask why he should marry me and yet he is married. Muslims are allowed to marry upto four wives. Recently I brought up the topic of marriage and it is like he is not interested. I am very confused and so depressed! Why would he let me love him for 9 years and not marry me? I am not ready to start another relationship. Am also worried about our son, he will ask me so many questions when he grows up which I might not be able to give answers. Why does this man want us to just stay the way we are?? He has drawn me so close to him and I dont even think about other men. He does so much for us in regard to upkeep, I cant complain. Should I just wait? Your advise is highly appreciated

Even though Muslims are allowed to have many wives,Christians aren't allowed to commit adultery. He doesn't want to marry you for some reason, I would move on. You have already waited way too long in my opinion. You deserve so much more. It is easier on a relationship to share the same beliefs and to not have to share your mate. Make sure you get court ordered child support for your son though.

Muslims are allowed to have more than one wife only if they can support them and any children by all of them equally.

 

He may be turned off by the fact that you are not also a Muslim. I know many Muslim mean that would happily sleep with a woman of different faith, but secretly think she is going to hell anyway.

 

I agree with the other poster that you have already waited too long. You have given him 9 years of no commitment, why would he want to commit to you now?
