Teacher's Pet
I guess I can boast a little, now. Over the weekend, I bought some cool new eyeglasses, and while I did get a lot of compliments on them, I realized something... It's more than my glasses that look good. I guess since my breakup on June 19th (no, I'll never forget.), I've rededicated myself to the greatest person in the world. Me. I had one of the girls at my bar take a picture of me in my new specs last night, and I liked the picture, but then I compared it to a picture of me from about 2-2 1/2 years ago. My avatar pic is the one taken last night, and I changed my "profile picture" to a pic I have of me from about 2 1/2 years ago. I can't believe that's the same person. I have a LONG way to go, but I've definately turned a corner in my life. I've learned to live more for myself (and of course, for REAL friends who deserve it), and less for people whom I *think* are good for me. Considering that I don't work out nearly as much as I want to (or should be), I feel like a "me" that's been hidden my whole life is starting to emerge. I guess "me time" is starting to pay off. I have new friends, and new respect for that funny dude I see in the mirror every day. So... I know we have a lot of new people here lately.... so a little advice from someone who's still fighting "the good fight"... Find yourself first before you find another. Before you let someone into your heart, let YOURSELF in and begin a love affair with the one person who will never let you down. YOU. -tp still a fat f***er, but a little less so. BannaBee57
Thanks for the uplifting post TP. For a while there dark rimmed glasses made me want to cry (no explination needed I think). But, they look darn cute on you! Congrats on the turn around and keep up the good work for yourself!

BannaBee57
My ex used to wear a pair of dark rimmed glasses. So, they reminded me of him a lot Not so much any more though. I guess it just went without saying. Everything that makes me upset had something to do with my ex.
