NC..but I need to get payed.

My ex girlfriends sister and brother in law subletted my apartment from me when I moved in with my girlfriend. I told them not to worry about the last months rent right away because I knew things were tight. Now because I am on my own, I am in need of that money to get my own place. I've been staying at my cousins. Last week, I had to call her to talk about it and she said that her sister was getting payed this week and that she could get the money to me. I said that I would like it before the first because I'll need to put money down on a place obviously. It's Wednesday now and still no word from her. Friday is the first. I really had faith in her that she would contact me and figure out a way to get together and do this. I'm really disapointed actually.

 

I'm trying the no contact thing this week and I thought this was a good opportunity. I do need that money so I'm not sure if I should bother with the NC thing. If she calls Friday last mintue which there is no excuse for, I'm going to be upset even more. I don't want to call her but she's not giving me much of a choice. Sad.

I think you should get things prioritised. The no contact thing to try to get her back is all good but now we're dealing with your money for housing. It's up to you which is more important, but personally, I'd be calling saying, "Where's my money?" and not letting up until I had it. I think you have to keep your personal relationship seperate. I'd be getting really pissed right now and probably threatening to sue (but I get exceptionally pissed when people screw with my money). This situation is a perfect example of why mixing business & personal is a bad idea. I hope she comes through and everyone stays happy, but I doubt it will happen. You have to be firm or she'll pull stuff like this.
