Antheia
I have started taking Yasmin 6 days ago because my gyno told me that it is the only pill that won't make me gain weight. I'm still pretty paranoid though - that's the only side effect that I really can not handle.
magichands
I'm still pretty paranoid though - that's the only side effect that I really can not handle. What sort of paranoia are we talking about here? Do you dream of being molested by pink elephants whilst you sleep?! I guess it could be worse. That kind of imagery brings new meaning to "gaining weight." And now it's time to take my pills.

Guest
I have just discovered that I have gained 0.6kg since last week. Oh chill. Our weight fluctuates DAILY. If you find you're putting on weight, do a bit more exercise or eat a bit less. But fer gawd sakes don't panic over a pound.
whichwayisup
Hate to say it, but why are you concerned about putting on abit of weight? If that is you in your avatar, you got nothing to worry about. Afew pounds or so isn't a big deal. Keep exercising, eat right and drink lots of water hopefully that will help control things. But, if you eat alot of junk food and don't exercise, then maybe you will put on the pounds.
blind_otter
I'm taking Yaz, which is similar to yasmin, for the same reason. I didn't want any weight gain at all. Yaz has lower estrogen than yasmin. My boobs inflated 1 1/2 cup sizes and went from a small B to a full C and now I have to wear a bra all the time. Well I didn't gain weight, but my boobs are just getting out of hand. No pun intended. I hope that the rest of my body doesn't follow suit. If you do start to gain weight, talk to your doc. I have read from other peopel taking it that there is weight gain over the course of a year or so, but IMO you can combat that with extra cardio and watching your diet more. blind_otter
I wouldn't get too excited. They are so sore they must be strapped down at all times and cannot be touched. <slap>
HeadlessZebra
So lemme get this straight... if I take Yasmin, my boobs will grow? I ask because I'm like B_O, I'm sporting a B-cup and I was planning on getting implants to boost me up to a C. But hell, if I can take a pill that'll blow my jugs up without making me fat, I'm all about it!

But hell, if I can take a pill that'll blow my jugs up without making me fat, I'm all about it! Well it worked for me. The only problem, of course, is the extensive boob soreness. I can now feel them completely when they are pressed against anyone, even with platonic hugs I feel slightly embarassed that my boobs are all -- big and firm or something. I had to get a bunch of new bras and everything. But I do know that the pill effects everyone differently, so you might just get unlucky and get that constant morning sickness that some chicks get on the pill. Who knows, womens bodies are so mysterious.
persistant
I havent been on BC in 4 1/2 yrs. The last BC I was on was Yasmin. Of all the kinds I've been on Yasmin is the ONLY one that didn't cause me to gain weight, didn't cause breast soreness and hotflashes. It regulated my moods and my mentrual flow. My doctor at the time said Yasmin is known for less side effects then other kinds of BC. That is why he put me on it. I'm hypersensitive to meds and every kind of BC I've been on has been the lowest possible dosage. It still worked well for me. I'm not on BC now because I'm over 35, have poor circulation, low blood pressure and am a weekend smoker. I've never known anyone who's been on Yasmin gaining weight. I've only heard good results due to less side effects.
persistant
Blind_Otter try taking Vitamin E for the soreness. Its suppose to help reduce the pain. I increase my amount 2 weeks before I menstrate and it sure helps alot.
hotgurl
I have been on yasmine for three years and no weight gain. I did gain weight but it was because I ate like crap. And my boobs didn't grow either.
Author Antheia
Oh no! My boobs are definetly growing. I'm a DD cup and I really don't want them any bigger. They are already out of proportion with the rest of my body. But after 10 or so days on Yasmin, they are falling out of my normal bra - I would say they grew 1/2 cup size so far, they are sore too. Good news is, no weight gain yet - I even weigh 1.5kgs less than few days ago.

blind_otter
Yeah, I realized that I've actually lost weight since I've been on Yaz. I just wanted to add that, I hardly ever weigh myself but I thought about it the other day since my clothes are looser and lo and behold. But I have noticed that it makes me reeeeally sleepy when I take them, and I have to take them at night. There's also only 4 sugar pills in the Yaz pack, which is supposed to give you lighter, shorter periods. But the sore boobs kind of balance that benefit out.
