Alice
I am a 22 year old female and my boyfriend, who is 23, recently broke up with me. We were going out for about 3 years and I truly thought he was the one. We have fought before and broken up, but we always managed to work things out. I think we are great together. Now he tells me that if I love him I will let him go. Well I do love him, but I am scared of losing him forever. He is not consistent with his feelings either. One day he says he needs time and the next he wants to get back together. I feel like I am in limbo. I know I love him but I can't decipher what he wants. I feel like the love of my life is gone, and I am all alone in the world. I have tried to let him go but I still end up calling him and sometimes even dropping by his place. He calls also and we have stayed friends through everything. We were very close and saw each other almost every day. I don't know how to let that go, but I feel like I am pushing him further and further away. I just want him back. I love him as a friend, but I want more. I am sure that he loves me and he tells me often. I have tried to let him go because that is what he asked me to do, but then he calls or I see him sometimes and he even say he wants to get back together. He promised me he would love me forever... that he would hold me for eternity. I can't seem to let that promise go... and I don't understand why he can. I even get desperate at times and my thoughts get so confused. One day I waited for him at his place and when he came home I cried and cried and told him I needed him. I think he thought I was going crazy. Sometimes I feel like I am. I don't want to let him go. I still feel like he is the one. I have even tried to let him go recently. I didn't call or make contact, but he has called me every night. Why does he say he wants me to let him go and then keep calling? How can I let him go when it is not what I want, and make up for what I have done? How can I make him want to come back to me?
Kekepania
I've been through the same ordeal with my current boyfriend. Don't you get tired of dealing with the attitude changes in your relationship. Of course, you are going to say that you love him. But how about you? How about what you feel? Lemme tell you girl... if the guy is confused on what he wants... telling him that you love him and you'll do anything for him won't make his mind budge. My boyfriend told me he loved me and he would say that we should be friends. I had this relationship with him for 3 years. Of course I didn't want to let it go. But I let him go and I cried and NEVER answered the phone (I had caller-id) and ignored him. It hurts to let a love one go... but you GOT TO BE STRONG and BE A WOMAN. Try other hobbies or meet new people - go out and MAKE YOURSELF HAPPY WITHOUT THIS PERSON. I did that... my boyfriend came running back to me stating that he made his mind up and we should be together. Of course I didn't give him what he wanted... I told him I had to think about it (I was happy)... We are together. But sometimes things weren't met to be. KEEP YOUR HEAD UP and BE STRONG!!! -Keke
Alice
Wow... you seem to know exactly what I am going through. I wish I could talk with you more. I understand what you mean about letting him go. He has been confused about his feelings for a while now but I wanted to work things out. I have let him go now, but sometimes I am afraid it is too late. I should have let him go when he first told me he was unsure. I have not seen him nor called him for about two weeks, but he has called me every day. I keep thinking he wants to ask me out... but I can't figure out why he doesn't. All I know is I miss him more and more every day.
