He knows that I want to be proposed to in a way that I won't know it's coming sort of thing. I remember a conversation we had in that I said I wouldn't want to be in the situation where it sort of came up in a conversation and it was a why don't we get married sort of deal. I wouldn't care if it was when my head was stuck in the oven cleaning it etc but I would like an out of the blue unexpected moment type thing. We both do tickle tests (they are amazingly accurate!) and I went to do one the other night and cliked onto the web site and went to my results page to see what one's I had done recently and realised it was actually his results and not mine. He hadn't logged out. He had done the is she marriage material test and the resounding answer was yes, he should pop the question and not let her get away. He had done a couple of other ones as well such as is she the one, will it last etc. I didn't know men did this stuff!! Would a man do these tests just for fun or do you think he is thinking about it? We have been together 18 months and lived together a little over a year. If anyone read my previous posts we hit a rough patch a couple of months ago but now things are more amazing than ever before and he is more affectionate and considerate than he has ever been. But I wouldn't weigh to heavily on anything else, like the results of the test and their impact on him. If someone really isn't sure they want to marry someone, they aren't going to let a silly online test decide for them! On the same point, if someone knows they want to marry someone, they don't need that silly online test to confirm that! He probably was just taking it for fun. I would talk to him about it. I would guess he already knows he wants to marry you, but none of this indicates any kind of timing. Don't get your hopes up for a proposal too soon. You might end up feeling disappointed. Ask him and find out if he wants to marry you. He already knows you want a "real" proposal, and you want to be surprised. You can still be surprised by the proposal because of the timing or the way he does it, even if you know he wants to marry you. Link to post Share on other sites

Yeah I know an on line test tells you nothing but I was just over the moon that he was doing them. I guess I was never sure if he even wanted to get married to anyone. We went to dinner at his parents the other night and were talking about a cousin of his who is a nightmare and her mum had called off the wedding (the arangements etc) and said she wasn't going to shel out all the money that she was demanding and if getting married was so important to her it should be about the marriage not the wedding. Anywho he asked his mum if any of the overseas rellies were coming and she didn't think so. he said they'd come over for mine wouldn't they, if anyone was slly enough to marry me that is. I don't want to bring it up with him as I really do want it to be a total surprise if and when it does happen. I guess I just wanted to hear from any guys on here that woudl they do that test "just for fun" with no intentions of marriage in their head as such. Link to post Share on other sites

I think there is not sure sign to tell you he will pop the question. KnottyLady Posted December 8, 2006 Share Posted December 8, 2006 Every man is different, but for the most part it seems that they are a bit calculated, so it sounds like he may be on the path to do so but I think the bigger hint comes from the conversation you both had about it (especially if he initiated it). If he knows how you want to be proposed to then I am sure he will make it a surprise, but will it really be a surprise if you are expecting it? I agree! I recently overhead a bunch of men agree on wanting to give the knee when their girlfriends least expect it. I can't say for sure that he will, but maybe looking for signs that he won't could help you out with this question as well. I don't know if he will follow thru with it so like others said, don't get your hopes up if he doesn't. I didn't know that my H was going to. Shocked me. If we hit the 2 year mark with no talk of it I may bring it up. In response to the person saying about waiting until you are older I agree, in this case though we aren't getting any younger although he is 6 years younger than me I am 38 so no youngsters here.
