Bernadette
Difference between infatuation and true love. There is a MAJOR difference, but sometimes it is not always easy to tell apart because most of the time being in love and being infatuated feels the same. You get that wonderful euphoric feeling. Dianne Hales wrote that "A romantic relationship shows definite promise if: You feel at ease with your new partner, you feel good about your new partner both when you're together and when you're not, your partner is open with you about his or her life-past, present, and future, you can say no to each other without feeling guilty, you feel cared for, appreciated, and accepted as you are, and your partner really listens to what you have to say." And I feel that statement is right on! Also, I think if you really love someone, you just know, so there will be no question there. Infatuation is like a "super-crush" but love is much deeper and will probably last forever (under the right circumstances). But of course I do not have all the aswers, and this is an issue that continues to perplex even the most intelligent psychologists! So I hope that this at least points you in the right direction! Take care! Bernadette
