ForVirg
Had confrontation number, heck I've lost track now, with WS this morning. He met these ho's on Hornymatches.com and told me "I picked them because they weren't like the other ones on there, so scuzzy. They just are having trouble with their marriages..." Funny one, huh? I told him I found that a very interesting comment seeing how within approximatley a nano-second I found truly helpful sites for people having marital trouble and, gee, I haven't seen a SINGLE naked "f*ck buddy" type ad on a single one of these sites!! Oh, sorry, my bad, I guess hornymatches.com IS a better place to go to deal with martial problems than say, this site. I could barf just about every second these days. IpAncA
I went on that site to see what it was about and wow, there are a lot of married men on there looking for someone while their away on business. I couldn't believe there were so many. Thats just sad. But they did have some funny catchy phrases that were funny. O yeah that site is so much better for solving problems then here lol!! Seen_It_All
HornyMatches.com????? There's seriously a freakin' website by that name? How utterly pathetic does a woman have to BE to put an ad on there? I'm embarrassed for my entire gender. Jesus.
FlyingHigh
HornyMatches.com????? There's seriously a freakin' website by that name? How utterly pathetic does a woman have to BE to put an ad on there? I'm embarrassed for my entire gender. Jesus. LOL! What has internet done to marriages? Hey, maybe we can tackle HornyMatches.com with www.FaceOfACheaterBillboard.com sponsored by www.BetrayedSpouse.org. renting billboards with their cheating spouse mug shot with the caption: BEWARE AMERICA: FACE OF A CHEATER; Husband/Wife: Name; Town:____; Height: ___ Hair:____ Children Ages:____ Ya think this will scare the crap out of them especially on their way to work? Hello!!! :D I threatened my stbx hubby that if he really pizzed me off, I'd rent a billboard off 405 and 91 in southern calif and flippin' paste his mug shot with exactly that caption! He knows I don't throw out threats lightly unless I'm going to carry it through. Of course, now that lawyers are involved...well...Damn! :D
norajane
That's funny FlyingHigh. I'll bet there would be fewer people cheating if they knew a billboard with their face on it would be plastered on the freeway...maybe right across from their office building. Seriously, cheating used to be frowned upon, didn't it? When did it become so acceptable and commonplace? Are we really that tolerant of it? I don't know how many threads I've read where someone has met a MP and wonders whether to get involved - don't we teach our children that married people are off-limits? I've also read a whole bunch of threads from MP who are thinking about cheating - don't they believe that's simply not done in a marriage? Why is cheating so easy for people to fall into anymore? Seen_It_All
Good point, Nora. I honestly think today's society is so spoiled by the 'instant gratification' factor that it's skewed their minds. Years ago, you wrote a letter and sent it off, knowing in 4 to 6 week's time, you'd get your reply. Nowadays, you send an email and can have an answer back within 10 minutes. It's all about instant gratification. Back in the day, you had to go to the store or an adult store to buy or view porno. Now, you do a google search for ANYTHING and you have more porn than you know what to DO with. Used to be that you had to wait to get home to see if your boyfriend/husband/Aunt Matilda had called - now you simply answer your cell phone the SECOND someone wants to talk to you. I just think people are so used to having their needs met immediately that it's probably compromised today's morals to an extent. It's all about instant gratification, now. norajane
I agree that instant gratification might contribute to the problem. I also think it's some sense of entitlement, too - like they deserve to get whatever they want regardless of who it hurts or whether it's ethical. It seems very childish to me, like we're a society that can't grow out of the "me me me" phase.
Trialbyfire
It's the state of the nation, narcissism. No values besides me, me, me.
Author ForVirg
HornyMatches.com????? There's seriously a freakin' website by that name? How utterly pathetic does a woman have to BE to put an ad on there? I'm embarrassed for my entire gender. Jesus. I so completely agree Seen-it-all. And yes, I too am embarrassed for our gender. I can't even imagine being so pathetic, and it was one of the things that MOST appalled me about this discovery. And I pointed out to my WS that the man I *thought* I knew would see the people on that site the way *I* see them -- pathetic and scummy. Life is so weird. The internet can be such a wonderful boon and an awful curse bringing out the absolute lowest behavior. It's all in what we do with it. Like everyone else has been saying in this thread, my WS and I used to always talk all the time about the "me me me" attitudes abounding right now. I just never thought he was one of them... IpAncA
Yea well there was more MEN on that site that were MARRIED. For crying out loud fix your marriage or divorce. Now that's embrassing. If I was single myself and seen that site and seen that married men just go around and do that I probably would consider not getting married. Especially if thats all I seen and heard. What would be the point if thats all their going to do is cheat. Sad sad sad.....

It seems very childish to me, like we're a society that can't grow out of the "me me me" phase. At the risk of politicising a nice little discussion about infidelity [], there's a good piece from a few years ago by Clayton Morgareidge about the rise of narcissism and psychopathy called "Capitalism is Organised Narcissism." Easily google-able.
