I get the impression that many of them are rejected by attractive white men and so instead of dating unattractive, overweight white men they choose the athletic black guys who come from a culture where weight is less of an issue and who may want the experience of dating a white girl... Some of this is regional too and I think it's a bigger thing to mix up the races up there. It started out asking if interacial dating was a trend to talking about the looks (beauty is in the eye of the beholder) of other races? Just....wow. Anyways......I am a black "chick" who has dated every race on the planet except asians. So there..... LOL! Many of my neighbors are in interracial relationships, and in fact, some are indeed black girl/white guy. A rarity, yes. But you should get used to it. Its not a trend. Most of my family members have bi-racial children by fathers/Husbands (mostly married to THEM, I might add LOL) of lineages as diverse as latino to jewish. And one of the most recent marriages joined a Japanese family to "our" clan. But "my" family is not typical. My H's family is from the West Indies, so race is not the issue that it is to most in the states. In fact, my H knows my dating history and that was one of the things that attracted him. On a funn"ier" note, he also says he has no idea of whom (race-wise) I would cheat with as I simply consider a man based on his MALENESS (if you KWIM). LOL! Whew, this thread is funny.
