Lola65
I am getting kind of concerned... I have consumed 1 diet pill per day for the past year. I do not think they have helped me lose weight, but I take them for the energy and extreme amounts of caffiene. I find that if I do not take one I cannot wake up. At night, I have to take a sleeping pill to get to sleep otherwise I lay awake in bed for hours thinking about work and other stresses in my life... Just how dangerous is this to my body?? Thanks in advance for the replies!
blind_otter
Isn't this what made Judy Garland go crazy? Diet pills + sleeping pills? It IS bad for you. Your body needs natural sleep and it needs to be able to wake up naturally. The fact that you can't means you should see a doctor about weaning off the diet and sleeping pills. These things are designed to be a temporary solution, not a lifestyle.
Author Lola65
Thanks for your reply. I just looked online and it looks as though the caffeine is what is effecting my ability to sleep. In one article, it stated that caffeine takes 6 hrs. to get out of your system. So,by bed time I still have caffeine running through me, hence why I take the sleeping pills...I also read that working out helps you sleep at night as well. I used to run 3 miles per day, and I just got too busy I guess. I do not remember having any problems sleeping then... It has become a horrible cycle.
