Every week, the two seconds while I am autographing his thing...we'll talk about the weather usually. Couple sentences back and forth. Never gave him much thought though. Figured he was taken. He is cute! BUT, today, he asked me what I was doing this weekend. I felt surprised that he asked. I don't usually have any guy friends ask me that. I just smiled, and told him that I would be home nursing my cold. After he left, it dawned on me. Ya think he was hitting on me? I was just talking to a coworker of mine. She told me a good way to get over shyness. A person should create *flirt* scenarios in their head. Basically, play it out many possible conversations in my mind so when I am put on the spot, I will already have stored away to say. Hmmm..makes sense. Seems like a good idea for shy people. When I drive by, he'll rubberneck to try to get my attention. This is a true story! Ok, let's think...the next time I catch doing that stuff, I'll stop my car as I'm driving by and say, "I've noticed you've been smiling and waving at me...so who are ya?" (big smile ) He might say, "Well, I am moving here from so and so..." I would say then, "So, did you get a new job here?" He'll say, "Yea, I work at such and such now." If you stop the car and get out, it seems somewhat obvious IMO. Ask him how he likes it so far around town. If he says that he hasn't had a chance to get out and see the town, suggest showing him around, or ask if he has had a chance to check out (insert a bar, restaurant, or coffee house here) and if not, suggest taking a trip there. I used to think they must have a "cute quotient" to meet before getting hired -until, one day, this very old one with knobby knees hobbled in huffing and puffing with some packages on his shoulders. After that -no one held their breath anymore to peek around the corner when they were due to deliver something.
