Teacher's Pet
Had a "coffee date" this afternoon with someone I met online. This one actually was a good one. She's cute, intelligent, and has a great sense of humor. Considering my dating history, she was a little different than most women I've dated... blonde, well educated (Master's Degree), and Jewish. I don't talk to my mother too much about my dating life, but she'd be happy about this one. The date ended well, we seemed to get along fine, but of course, this is one of the few things in life I'm pessimistic about. We had a lot of laughs and talked for 3 hours, so I guess the verdict will be in on Monday or Tuesday (she's spending NYE in Pennsylvania with family)..... Worst comes to worst, I'm out $8, plus $.50 for the parking meter. -tp at least she didn't crap on me
westernxer
I've had a few coffee dates myself. Good luck! At least she didn't crap on you -- wait, didn't you already say this?
notmakingsense
so... you posted this in "coping" rather than "dating." Did it serve to take your mind off of whatever ex's memory you are still coping with? talking for 3 hours is a good sign -- quit being so pessimistic.... what's that about crapping on you? Get rid of that attitude -- no matter how subtle, it affects you on your dates -- even if you don't think it does.
alphamale
blonde' date=' well educated (Master's Degree), and Jewish.[/quote'] Worst comes to worst, I'm out $8, plus $.50 for the parking meter. unfortunately I think she's probably used to haveing more than that spend on her

Maybe Wednesday, she might be mourning Ford... 3 hours is a good sign, following the other thread, did you ask for her number? Worst comes to worst, I'm out $8, plus $.50 for the parking meter. That was cheap for 3 hours.

I generally post about dating in "Coping", because this is where my LS "career" started, also, I think that moving on by allowing yourself to meet new people is the highest form of "Coping" As for "crapping on me", I was actually being literal. Most people here probably remember my "PooPoo Girl" story (a girl I met who had irritable bowel syndrome and had an attack while we were lying in bed together) -tp duck and cover! Ever since that song... Now most movies use 555-####.
dgiirl
I generally post about dating in "Coping", because this is where my LS "career" started, also, I think that moving on by allowing yourself to meet new people is the highest form of "Coping" i think this is good... those who are in the beginning stages of a break up need to see theres' hope at the end of the tunnel. you can move on and still have a good life if you choose to do so... if coping or in my case divorce forum were only of the heatraches, then ppl would get really depressed and think there's no hope. but having hope is good. As for "crapping on me", I was actually being literal. Most people here probably remember my "PooPoo Girl" story (a girl I met who had irritable bowel syndrome and had an attack while we were lying in bed together) i'm a little tipsy but  did i read that right? lol

Author Teacher's Pet
its good to see another exciting installment of "teachers pet" dating cannon fodder. Hey, it's my pleasure to take one for the LS team. I think I pick these women out specifically for the humor factor. Who wants to hear me post something like "....and then she dug her nails down my back as our sweaty bodies pulsated together in a fiery rhythm....our eyes meet as our breathing becomes as one....the gentle rocking sound of the bed only drowned out by the strains of Barry White playing in the background.....as our bodies continue to slowly grind together, the passion overwhelms us as we simultaneously..........." No, you guys wanna hear about my REAL dating life! -tp is it hot in here?

Author Teacher's Pet
Hi xxxxxxx, I also wanted to thank you for a very nice time on Saturday. You seem like a great guy and I had a good time talking to you. That being said, unfortunately, I also see a lot of differences between us that in my mind make me feel we are not compatible as far as a relationship is concerned. It was a pleasure to talk with you and meet you. Good luck in finding your perfect match! Take care, xxxxxxx Is it 2008 yet? This is going to be a long f'ing year. -tp just a great f'ing guy. notmakingsense
Hi xxxxxxx, I also wanted to thank you for a very nice time on Saturday. You seem like a great guy and I had a good time talking to you. Yep -- that's the problem, isn't it? On your next date, practice being more of an a**hole, and you'll likely end up in the sack with her that night! Its just a numbers game TP, as my coach used to say, "the more shots you take, the more points you'll score." Here's to a high-scoring 2007!

My first rejection of 2007 occured only 16 hours, 52 minutes, and 7 seconds into the new year, according to the time she emailed me. I was hoping to last at least a week! -tp nnnnnnnnnext! Storyrider
Not to encourage sour grapes, I'm sure she's quite nice in person, but she writes like a milk-toast, mealy-mouthed drip: "in my mind make me feel we are not compatible as far as a relationship is concerned..." WTF? You can do better, TP. I'd give her a D-.
