funkify
Hi there, I'm quite short (4"11) and weight about 45kg which puts me right in the middle of the healthy weight range for my height. I understand I'm not overweight but most of my weight is fat not muscle so I look a little 'chubby' because of my small stature. I'd like to lose only about 3kg, still keeping me in the healthy weight range of course. I don't usually overeat but my diet could probably be a bit healthier. To lose this 'excess' weight I will eat a healthier diet and run 30mins a day but it still doesn't shift the kilos. The only thing that does shift the kilos is if I dramatically cut down my portions, making them very small. But I know this is not healthy and will end up screwing up my metabolism. Why is it so hard for this weight to shift? What can I do to change this?
Mythical
Hey, Since you are a healthy weight already why don't you just tone up and do the healthy eating? and of course cardio is good for anyone.
Author funkify
Hi mythical, I guess I just want to lose a bit because I'll look a bit better in my clothes. I lost about 3kg a few years ago (unhealthily) but it did make me look a lot better, got many compliments.

Hey Funkify, Since you are not overweight I don't think you should loose anymore. If you loose more you could loose your figure (bum, boobs) lol and I think since you said you weight is not muscle its fat I think all you need to do is a little toning . If you do decide to do this continue a lil cardio do the weight training (toning) on all parts of your body. Don't only focus on the areas you feel are chubby do an entire body workout and everything will be toned and even. Weight training is also an excellent calorie burner, so stick to a healthy diet regular cardio and toning. All the fat will turn into muscle witch is healthy pounds!

guin_girl
Weight training is a great way to re-sculpt the body. Free weights are better than the machines because it will also work the stabilizer muscles as well. I have done well with a high protein diet and working out every other day.
