So sorry for your dark times. I understand. Therapy will help, it seems to make things make more sense. If you have a good counselor they should help you to understand what's going on. I could always tell my C what happened and he would explain what my H was up to. My C had counseled with the both of us in the beginning so he knew him and what head games he was playing with me. I guess that doesn't apply to you.

 

Reading your posts takes me back to the worst of the times. I also love to cook. When he left I was so depressed.....that's one of the things I stopped doing. It took a long time to get over losing him.

I really enjoyed that too. My kids have a lot of food allergies so I was always experimenting and baking. But that was one of the things my H didn't like. He complained that i spent too much time in the kitchen and didn't understand what i was doing was offering variety for my kids who couldn't eat most prepackaged foods.

 

With my life in crisis mode, I really have not been able to do that. Cooking for my family shows my love for them and I just feel sad that we are no longer that anymore. Since H still lives at home, we have not had a family meal like the old days.

 

Like you said Debilou, alot of things we see now were really different in hindsight. While I was thinking of cooking my H's favorite food last yr, he was really checked out of the marriage and involved with EA or PA what ever you call it. So he hated everything that I did last year b/c he was mentally gone and I didn't know that. That's why he complained about the most insignificant things and didn't really eat what I cooked. Gosh, it feels like the ultimate betrayal not to have known until now.
