Craig
This is from The Heart and Stroke Foundation's page on quitting smoking No energy? Feeling tired, spaced out or lethargic are common reactions. Get lots of rest, exercise and fresh air.
amaysngrace
I quit smoking in October and never experienced that. But I did replace my addiction with running so maybe that increased my energy levels? I know that cigarettes have stimulants in them. That's why you use to chain smoke in the car late at night to keep from falling asleep at the wheel. I would just suggest you increase your daily activity. Take a walk or if it's cold play music and dance around the house. Anything really. Also watch what you eat. If you find you have replaced smoking with eating you may be experiencing calorie overload on top of the normal withdrawal. Sweating and drinking lots of water just seemed to rid my body of the toxins others have problems shaking. You may want to give it a try. This tiredness is only temporary but may require some swift action on your part. Congratulations and keep up the good work!

Buttaflyy
Today is my second completely smoke free day! It's not as bad as I've anticipated all of these years, but I too am very tired. Until reading this, I had no idea that it was attributed to the withdrawl. Thank goodness it's a long holiday because I slept all day yesterday, went to bed early last night, and woke up late in the afternoon today. It really hasn't been so hard for me because this time I really want to do it. I realize now more than ever that it was more of a habit than anything else. When I have a craving, I put it out of my mind and I'm fine. I can admit that I never really wanted to stop before. Now I do, so now I will. Good luck to all of us!
