typical
I am becoming rather concerned... I dont drink very often, perhaps only on the weekends every now and then. And I certainly dont drink to get drunk. I will drink casually. But I have noticed something the last two times I drank: It took me almost a full day (even with drinking water) to get it out of my system.. I wind up still feeling drunk at 9 at nite when I only had two small cups (not wine glasses, plastic dixie cups) of red wine, and a shot of coconut rum, the last of which was finished by 3 in the afternoon. Also, when I am drinking, I dont feel drunk at all, but it seems to all come slamming into me hours later..... ...as far as the next day goes, I am feeling dizzy still, off balance, as if I had spent the whole day and night partying wildly, when that just wasnt the case... Why the delayed reaction? Why can I drink and feel fine, but hours upon hours later, all of a sudden, I am drunk?? And off of so little alcohol? My BMI is 20, I weigh 120, I am 5'5'', and I am in my late 20's.
littlekitty
The delay could possibly be down to food or mood. Many things can effect the way alcohol effects us. If you eat while drinking it can certainly delay the effects. The stuff the next day just sounds like a hangover to me!! If you don't drink regularly and then drink enough to feel drunk, you're going to get a hangover and will feel it more than someone who drinks regularly no doubt. Remember you'll 'feel' hangovers more the older you get.
Author typical
If you eat while drinking it can certainly delay the effects. That might explain it... Thing is, by 3, I have stopped drinking...(and I only drank 2 plastic cups of wine and a shot of rum in a 5 hour time period) .by 7 I start feeling real drunk and off balance and like I just spent the whole day drinking. By 9 I am dizzy and tired. The next day is not quite a hangover, just light dizzy, tired, crappy feeling, as if I am in a fog, and that lasts until the afternoon and then I am fine. Its weird. Its not as if I was partying all nite and drinking hard core. Remember you'll 'feel' hangovers more the older you get Ahh...the essence of youth...
