1) You are arrogant

2) You are way too judgemental

3) You are conceited

I am confident. I know what I want. If that makes me come off as arrogant to you in this thread, then so be it.

Your anger/hate towards bisexual women includes all three....let's see, it's not a choice, it's how they are born, most people are born attracted to the opposite sex, some are born attracted to the same sex others to both etc.

Total bull. Bisexuality is CONDITIONED behavior. Where is it learned? From our society. You may conform to the evil ways of the world but I refuse to.

Saying someone is 'immoral' because they were born a certain way is nonsense to me...

Once again, they were not born this way but either way it is immoral.

And frankly, if you choose to live your life according to some humans interprentation of a book written by other humans - in your case, the bible - then you are brainwashed in my opinion...

Oh and btw, there weren't less bisexuals 50 years ago, I'm sure the % of the population was the same, they were just in denial about half of their sexuality, even to themselves, because of a biased society

Bisexuality was less rampant 50 years ago. It is because our society now accepts it that more people turn to it. Perhaps if we teach our children that it is wrong instead of condoning it we would live in a better world.

Ah, the old I'm always right, everyone else is always wrong if they don't agree with me....look up the definition of narcissism.

I realize the majority opinion is not always true by a long shot, but f EVERYONE says the same thing maybe you need to look at yourself. What makes you think you're so damned perfect?

I know you will likely disregard this based on my previous post, but oh well

There is so much truth to this statement. It's amazing what we can allow ourselves to do if we put forth some effort. I have always dated, and mistakenly married, women who adhered to a high physical standard... and that has nothing to do with me thinking I'm all that. The point is, that after my divorce and subsequent long-distance move, I met a girl who was pretty and smart, but had, and to be brutally and piggishly honest, a bigger butt than I like. In fact, it was almost a deal-breaker for me. However, I chose (and it took some effort at first) to look past it because of all of the other things she had going for her, and honestly because cute butts hadn't made me happy to this point. Long story short, I am madly in love with this woman now and that butt that almost broke the deal for me now drives me absolutely crazy.

I guess the point is that sometimes you can convince yourself to do something or give someone a chance that you wouldn't normally. And lets face it, if the normal choices aren't panning out, what the hell do you have to lose?

I have everything to lose by making the wrong choice.

I would call your suggestion "settling".

Once again, I know what I want. I see folks "settling" all the time, but that does not mean I have to conform to it as well.

My god, do you listen to yourself? SO, you are saying tens of millions of homosexuals or bisexuals out there all over the world, from the beginning of the human race until today have been 'conditioned' to be that way??

Who are YOU to know how they feel and whether their attraction is born inside them or not? Don't you know how nature works?

Well let me tell you, it works by genes and the DNA inside them, just as some people are wired to have artistic/poetic inclinations while others technical ones, some people are wired to be attracted to the same sex, why is that so hard to believe?

You know you sound like the middle-age priests that condemned anyone that said the earth was round or the earth wasn't the center of the universe as a heretic. They followed the bible too...

I would hardly call being madly in love with his woman who has an ass that drives him crazy as "settling". (I presume he meant crazy in a good way!!)

And it sounds like he might be a lot happier than you actually are at the moment. Again, doesn't sound like "settling".

Salicious Crumb
IMHO about 1/4 of it is how he looks.

The other 3/4 is in how he approaches her. Confidently and with a little wit/humor and he'll be fine.

So if a guy is shy that is a reason a woman would be offended?

I agree with what you're saying, but sometimes I do get the impression that it's "fashionable" to say you're bi as it sounds a bit naughty and kinky and gets a bit of attention. For example, look at somewhere like Myspace and the majority of women seem (i haven't done a scientific study of this!) to list themselves as bi. However, there is the theory that .all women are bi to some extent.

kindred_soulman.. Are you looking for advice ?

I originally posted this thread seeking advice of this community. It has turned into me defending myself.

Basically, some people here are attacking me. They point the finger 100% at me, because I am arrogant or whatever other derogatory word they can think of at them moment.

Surely I must have been 100% to blame for every negative aspect of my past relationships.

According to most here, society has no influence on my current situation.

I will take responsibility for my mistakes and I have made some.

On the other hand, there is just no excuse for some of the ways women have behaved in the past and present.

It's not just me, I look around me and I see:

1) People "settling"

2) people going from one relationship to another because they are afraid to be alone.

3) Couples in which one partner is secretly cheating, all the while putting on a "happy face"

4) Lack of general respect of one another.

These are the things that piss me off. I realize it's not just women, but society in general.

I have had a lot of women do these things to me, so why am i going to be so naive as to think "some magical moment" is going to happen and I will find the woman of my dreams? I have thought this in the past and it only led to my dismay.

I am caught somewhere between learning from my mistakes and moving forward. Not to mention making a stand for things I believe in.

Yes, I know how "nature" works. I know that nature created a penis and vagina for procreation. I know that a penis in your anus does not create children - at least that is what i learned in sex ed lol.

No one is "born" homosexual - that is a bunch of hogwash you have been fed by the masses.

I respect your opinion, but mine just happens to differ. Look at this sentence he wrote...

"I think I may have mentioned this to you already...

Sometimes if you give someone you would never consider dating a chance, you fall in love. This goes back to having an open mind."

How does that not sound like settling?

Also, I don't think i could fall in love with someone that I wouldn't normally consider dating, just seems contradictory to me.

Yeah, reality can be difficult for some to handle.

Those "masses" would be the masses of scientists out there and the people that are homo/bisexuals themselves.

I see you are like those priests in the middle ages that would kill someone for saying the earth was round and not square. You are totally illogic, logic makes no dent on you...that is why I will refrain from giving you any more advice except for the next phrase, waste of time...

Let's see. You came in here asking for advice, and everyone has been telling you alot of it it's your fault and that you have bad character traits you need to fix.

You took this as an "attack". Tens of total strangers from the internet that have no interest whatsoever in gaining anything from attacking you suddenly decide to do that....sounds like paranoid schizophrenia to me...

Common sense

Well let me tell you, it works by genes and the DNA inside them, just as some people are wired to have artistic/poetic inclinations while others technical ones, some people are wired to be attracted to the same sex, why is that so hard to believe?

Look at most of the great musicians and artists throughout the world. Most of them were born into an environment where they were influenced by these things as a child.

You would have just as much chance of being a great musician as the next guy if your parents bouhgt you musical instruments as a child.

Pick up a psychology book.... Dr. Freud calls this conditioned behavior. But then maybe you are Tom Cruise and think psychology is psuedo-science!

This works much in the same way with sexuality. If you grow up believing it is "okay" to be with the same sex, you are at a much greater disposition to become homosexual yourself. Therefore, society's acceptance of such behavior promotes it.

Were are all products of our environment to some extent, regardless if you like it or not.

Freud, I read some Freud. I wouldn't go around quoting Freud unless I had read some.

Freud and the subsequent psychoanalyst school did view sexuality as the result of early childhood experiences. However, for them, it also means that we are conditionned into dominant sexuality, meaning that heterosexuality is as much a social construction as homosexuality.

We all know Greek citizens had a penchant for homosexuality and polygamy. Christianity embraced heterosexuality - as it was linked to the emergence of property rights, and therefore heritage.

Some time ago I would have gotten angry and frustrated with such lack of common sense and basic logic, but now I'm just amused by idiots....

Anyone else thinking of a brick wall reading this thread? lol

There we go with the name calling again. Let's all resort to verbal abuse so that we can get our point across.

I can't tell if you are in agreement or contrast. I have read Freud, in fact I received excellent grades in psychology related classes in college.

Yes, heterosexuality is as much a social construction as homosexuality. It just so happens that one of them is beneficial to the human race and the other is not. That's kind of my point, instead of condoning homosexuality, we should give our children the best possible chance to lead the most fulfilling life possible, which does not involve anyone's anus.

Very, very true! Actually the biggest creep I've met in the last few years was a very handsome man. But who he was on the inside and how he talked to me was .

I met a guy I was supposed to work with (a keyboard player) and my first thought was: "OMG, he is so ugly, who's gonna want this guy on stage?" Later we became such good friends, he is so charming, I almost slept with him. The reason why I didn't was because he was way below me intellectually and in other aspects. But only after a couple weeks of hanging out together, I felt some attraction toward him.

My point is - sometimes it's not the looks that turn girls off. Looks only matter on the first sight. So guys, don't worry ONLY about your physics, start worrying ALSO about your personalities!

Frankly, how many of you are really objective about your other qualities? ;)

Until men who don't look like a movie star understand they just need to have some confidence when speaking to women, they're all going to be single, creepy and sex-less.
