Pyro
You hit the nail on the head there, Your Horniness. Thank you, but a majority of the women that I have talked to on here are more impressed with your trunk than my nose.

pricillia
Its pretty much just the men that have been burned by women in the past and they can't get past being bitter, so they resort to BS generalizations about them. Oh... All Men? or maybe some men are insecure and don't feel like they have enough to offer? But I think that OP is asking for trouble... like Johan said what if you end up really liking the person and want something more, then you have to disclose the truth, it could ruin a good thing. Of course not all men. Insecurity is definitely a big part as well. If the OP is going to do that, then he probably has no desire to try and meet any of the woman that respond. If he does end up meeting them, than he is setting himself up for a downfall. He can't say that we didn't warn him.

Touche
It's not about the money, it's about ambition for me. Always has been. Would I ever date an unemployed guy living with mom (if I were single?)...no. Maybe if I were in my twenties but not beyond that. Does that make me a gold digger? I don't think so. It makes me discerning though.
magichands
, it's about ambition to make lots and lots of money.
Touche
to make lots and lots of money. Ha ha! Not really. I dated a dairy farmer once. He was as poor as a church mouse...even asked me if he and his teen daughter could move in with me at one point. The point is though that I admired his ambition for what he did. He was passionate about organic farming and taught me a lot. It never bothered me that he didn't have any money.

Art_Critic
I've gotten a few leads but haven't closed any sales. I decided to be perfectly honest and tell people that I have no job and that while I'm applying to grad school I'm living at home (as in, with my mother) until the summer. As you can imagine, that ain't too cool with the ladies - which isn't a problem because I knew that coming into this situation. I would imagine that if you push where you have been and what you have been doing that the fact you live with your Mom and don't have a job right now would become a moot point.. Sell the positives ... You are worldly and have the experience of being abroad that other guys don't have.
Author amerikajin
Would I ever date an unemployed guy living with mom (if I were single?)...no. Maybe if I were in my twenties but not beyond that. Does that make me a gold digger? I don't think so. It makes me discerning though. Thank you. You're honest. I dig it, sista. My older brother keeps saying crap like "Yeah, well if you just meet the right one she'll understand blah! blah! blather!" And I'm like, um, "No, she won't." She'll think "Dude's 32 and living at home - next." I'll meet women but it won't get past the initial conversation before it ends. Fortunately, it's temporary. I guess it just irks me because I'm a bit of an idealist, but we have to accept reality, eh? I hardly know anyone in this shytehole town. I mean, these guys consider monster truck racing "culture" for f**ks sake. Anyway, I digress. No, I think some of you misunderstand. I wasn't actually going to pursue someone seriously under false pretenses. I was just going to have a little fun, make some stuff up and see what kind of responses I get before I drop back and fade into oblivion. I was just thinking of conducting my own little experiment of sorts. Yes, I have too much time on my hands.
burning 4 revenge
Amerikajin, I'm in the same exact boat. Like you I'm 32 and like you I'm in grad school and like you I just moved back to my parents house. I'm nine hours into my program and should finish by December, but otherwise it's exactly the same. And you're right. WOmen think you're a loser even though you're in grad school and working on your education unlike the guy who owns a tow truck and makes 40k. It doesn't matter. You're still a loser...
johan
Here's a more interesting experiment: make this the highlight of your online profile. Put it as the first and best thing you have going for you. Make it sound like you couldn't be prouder. Instead of hiding it, sell it. What's wrong with being in school and living at home? Nothing. Lots of guys do that. It's your choice, and it's the right thing for you to do. So why hide it. Honestly: aren't you proud of what you're doing? Isn't it the best decision you've made? You're whole future is based on it. You better be. You're men after all, and you get to make whatever choices you want. Pride and self-assurance are also factors women consider important. They are more important factors than money, for women who are actually worth being around. Women want a guy they can build a life with and be proud of. They can't be proud of a guy who isn't proud of himself.

burning 4 revenge
I'm going to make an experiment of taking the next girl out to the transvestite bar. It will be like Travis Bickle when he took Cybil Shepard to the porn theatre.
Art_Critic
who owns a tow truck and makes 40k. It doesn't matter. You're still a loser... When did making 40k a year make a guy a loser ? As well as owning his own tow truck ? That would show me a drive to succeed.. Within 5-10 years he might own 20 tow trucks and be worth 2 million.. you have to start somewhere and women know it.. It also shows that he is willing to put his money where his mouth is in buying the Tow Truck..the next move.. buying a home is only a step away
