I wish I knew all the words to Love Shack by the B52's.

(I hate that song though)

Someone emailed me the words but they were changed. It was hysterical.

Anyway, hope we can keep it light in here today.

La Camisa Negra by Juanez. Not my favorite song, and it's actually about break-up, but when we were dating it seemed to follow us whenever we would go out, so it became our song. Other than that, our music tastes coincide a little but not much. I'm much more weird.

It still hurts me to listen to it but the song below is one exMM sent me once. It's so beautiful and haunting...

My husband says that "She" by Green Day reminds him of me. I find that offensive, I do NOT "scream at him until his ears bleed."

The song "In my mind" by Heather Headley used to be his ringtone on my cell phone. That has kind of stuck in our heads, so now when either of us hear it, or when we're together and it comes on, it has a little meaning now.. After our first "seperation" when I thought I couldnt do this anymore, I deleted that tone, and still dont use it to this day...

The ring tone now is "I wish I wasnt" by Heather Headley also... LOL

We're still together and its getting deeper by the day, and as it does im steadily backing away...... This hurts too much

That's sort of cheesy...Sounds like what is was like when my H and I were dating in high school...

THE ROAD LESS TRAVELLED ON

See CA! Despite yourself - you still have your sense of humour intact - albeit fuelled by anger at the moment.....

I found myself laughing at your suggested songs nonetheless....:lmao:

I've never been with a guy where we said "this is OUR song"..But I've associated Tons of songs with my love life, of course. A couple stick out; when I was in college I dated a sorority sister's ex boyfriend but we were trying to keep on the down-low, so that she wouldn't be hurt by it. "Back to Good" by Matchbox Twenty was always on the radio and it still makes me think of him to this day.

"Your song" by Elton John; my current roommate and I have been just friends for many years, but a few yrs. ago when we heard it on the radio we'd sing it to each other. Especially the part that says "I'd buy a big house where we both could live". Now, we have an apartment together, and he's mentioned getting a house, interesting if it turned out like the song! However, we are just roommates!! ..wish I could think of a song about total confusion!

My Best GF just broke up w/ a fella that became a substance abuser--well, not over-night, but in full throttle at this point. It was an an eight year live-in.

She is a country music fan and she loves the George Straight song:

"I'm going to love you over and over, over and over Amen"

Last night at happy hour she requested said song and VERY LOUDLY AND DRUNKENLY changed the lyrics to:

"I'm gonna love you over and over, over and over BULLSH&T".

Not only did she get bought about 40 drinks but the males lined up like sheep to the slaughter~I packed her loose butt in the car and I didn't get one drink...he he! Wassup w/ that?

Back to original thread: ex-MM and I actually had severe musical differences so at this point I feel fortunate no song was derived for which I could drive down the road and weep over. But also envious that others have something so lovely and memorable.

"I Want To Make It With You" by Bread.

In my opinion, this is one of the greatest love songs, especially for those in challenging relationships... and the OM/MW or OW/MM is definately a challenging relationship!

RG--you are such a sap-- (as am I) that was the song at my Wedding in 1978. Two gorgeous children, three gorgeous grands, so I guess we "made it".

Wouldn't change a thing, even with the Divorce.

No kidding! I've always been a big fan of Bread... sure beats the crap you hear on the radio today.

I sound like such an old man for 31... ;)
