I am a very reserved person and know it affects my everyday life because people don't talk to me. I find my job to have a huge affect on my attitude and even before my job I didn;t really come across as being approachable. When your shy/reserved person, how do you come across as being approachable other then smiling, eye contact? Link to post Share on other sites

That breaks the ice for people to approach you even if you ARE reserved. that, combined with knowing your field well, because people start to seek you out for your knowlege of the subject. As quan said, a smile is very important. What you're asking for wont come with an easy answer. being shy/reserved already puts you off on a bad start. Instead of smiling/ec with the person whom you want to approach you. Socializing with others in the area do give off an indirect approachable factor. Off the bat people can see you're friendly, sociable, knowledgeable...etc. Link to post Share on other sites
