amazing727
I have worked in retail all of my life, and I really need to get out. I want to apply for a clerical/secretarial position so I can start attending college at night, but pretty much everything out there requires previous experience! I have great typing skills (60 wpm), and I am very knowledgeable with computers.. shouldn't this be enough?
Green
you have to just start aplying to a bunch of jobs even if you dont fit the requirements. I just got a good job for a very nice increase in a field I've never worked in and had no experience in because I took a chance and aplied. Look in the paper for jobs to apply to, Look on the internet, and cold call and just show up to places you want to work. Like if theres a big office building full of business just show up with ur resume and knock on all there doors and ask to speak to hr because your looking to get a job there. and if they say something like but you dont have any experience show them how your more then qualified in other ways and say you would really want to work there to grow at a career level. look if you dont send out aplications to massive ammounts of places and you dont start going on atleast 1 interview a week u'll never get out of ur job. so just do it youve got a very atainable goal and believe me it feels great to snag a new job that ud wrather be in especialy if it pays more... which alot of business do pay more than most retail
